Just a thought:
We have all, I am sure, read in Mat. 9:1-5; Mark 2:1-12 & Luke 5:17-26 of the paralysed man (G3885 - paralutikos = paralytic; paralysed; enfeebled) whom Yeshua healed after he was lowed through the roof of the house by his four friends.
We read that when Yeshua saw "their faith" meaning all five of the actors in this scene, the palsied man and his four friends, Yeshua said to the palsied man:
"Son, thy sins be forgiven" KJV.
Of course we are also told that once again the good old Scribes & Pharisees were there as well to pass judgement on The Messiah (Luke 5:17) so when they reasoned amongst themselves as to His blasphemous statement concerning the forgiveness of SINS which was an act only capable of being commissioned by YHWH Elohim, Yeshua is shown their spirits of contention and judgement and confronts these spirits head-on by revealing what they were thinking and discussing in private asking this question of these "learned men"
"What reason ye in your hearts whether is is easier to say " 'Thy sins be forgiven thee'; or to say, 'Rise up and walk'?" KJV
Here we see many things occurring at once, the least of these not being that YHWH Yeshua was showing Himself to indeed be YHWH ELOHIM & secondly Yeshua was connecting the illness that the man had TO SIN!
What is SIN? IT IS THE BREAKING OF TORAH - THE SINAI MARRIAGE COVENANT! 1 John 3:4-10.
We are warned that to sin will lead to our DEATH Gen. 2:15-17, and what was the nature of the original sin committed by Adam & Chavah?
BREAKING THE COMMANDMENTS OF YHWH ELOHIM!
I believe that it is common cause that The Word shows the link between sin, illness & death and that this link was well known by the populace of Yeshua's day, and even those after:
We see once again in that incredible chapter of John, Chapter 9 that Yeshua and His disciples were walking past a man blinded from birth and this caused His disciples to ask who has sinned to cause this ailment - we note that Yeshua does not rebuke them for an erroneous theology, but instead tells them that personal sin per se was not the reason that this man had been blinded from birth - but that he had in fact born blind FOR A MOMENT SUCH AS WAS TO NOW TRANSPIRE - HE HAD BEEN BLINDED SO AS DEMONSTRATE THE WORKS OF YHWH ELOHIM!
NB: Please do not begin to say that verses 13 & 28 of Chapter 9 proves that Yeshua broke and did away with the Torah - HE BROKE A PHARISAICAL / RABBINICAL LAW KNOWN AS THE ORAL TORAH - NOT THE TORAH (but that is another teaching)!
We also read in Acts 5 that deliberately sinning (lying in this case) led to the death of Ananias & Sapphira.
And now here is something that YHWH made very, very clear to me when He began to move me to question denominational liturgy on my road back to the Torah:
This most important of topics is found in 1 Cor. 11:17-34 and concerns The Holy Communion; Die Nagmaal (in Afrikaans); The Lords Supper which are all in fact different names which refer back to the single incident known as The Pesach Seder and which was committed to writing by Moshe in Ex. 12:23-27 and was duly commemorated by Yeshua as INSTRUCTED IN THE TORAH prior to His Death (again another massive teaching).
Although we do not have it all correct yet; although we do not have the full understanding yet - THAT IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER TO IN ANYWAY MAKE LIGHT OF YHWH'S SUPPER!
Sha'ul warns us very graphically that should we drink of HIS Cup or eat of HIS Bread unworthily WE SHALL BE GUILTY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF YHWH YESHUA! In other words when we eat unworthily of HIS BODILY REPRESENTATIONS OF HIS SACRIFICE TO YHWH HIS ABBA OUT OF LOVE AND OBEDIENCE TO HIS FATHER AND FOR HIS BODY, US! - WE DRINK DAMNATION ONTO OURSELVES AND FOR THAT REASON MANY AMONGST US ARE WEAK AND SICKLY AND MANY ARE ASLEEP (DEAD)! I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS INCORRECT TO SAY THAT WE TRAMPLE THE BLOOD OF YESHUA UNDER OUR FEET IN "CELEBRATING" COMMUNIONS THE WAY MANY DENOMINATIONS DO!
I personally had to judge myself very harshly and strictly and WAS FORCED TO ABSTAIN from "Holy Communion" as I understood it to be at that time: I also needed to take this warning and pass it onto my Pastor, telling him that denomination practiced an open "Communion policy" which meant that we ate and drank in remembrance of Messiah Yeshua's redeeming and glorious Sacrifice with those possibly not even born again and some possibly living in open sin!
If we read Ex. 12:43-50 we will note a few massively important, yet denied Biblical Doctrines namely but not exclusively:
Only those circumcised (partakers of The marriage Covenant - born again in Yeshua Messiah) may eat the Passover in Jerusalem (please remember we are circumcised because we are redeemed by Messiah Yeshua - WE ARE NOT CIRCUMCISED TO BECOME REDEEMED):
AND secondly, for this missives purpose, this PROVISO OF CIRCUMCISION REFERS TO BOTH BIOLOGICAL HEBREWS AND SOJOURNING STRANGERS PLUS THEIR MALE SERVANTS - BECAUSE ONE LAW SHALL BE FOR ALL - ONE NATION UNDER ONE ELOHIM AND UNDER ONE LAW! Ex. 12:48-49 - again it shows the BLOOD OF THE LAMB - YESHUA - MAKES US ONE, AND ONLY HE ALLOWS US TO PARTAKE OF HIS "COMMUNION" - TO DO OTHERWISE WOULD BRING DAMNATION ON US as prescribed in other portions of this Chapter & as Sha'ul stated in I Cor. 11!
Please, please understand that today many actions that I would have considered sinful at that time I would not now consider as SIN, BECAUSE I NOW KNOW THAT SIN IS BREAKING THE COVENANT OF YHWH AND NOT THE BREAKING OF THE COVENANT OF MAN OR HIS DENOMINATIONS - example The Fourth Commandment - Keep the Sabbath Holy and set apart to YHWH - NOT THE SUNDAY OR ANY OTHER DAY I WOULD LIKE TO!
I have much more to say on this vital subject, but not now, that is for another time. My aim today is to please just ask each of you, if you feel so led, to ponder and think on what I have penned here.
Finally in closing I would ask that you all once again look at the "Healing Scripture" found in James 5:13-16 - This Scripture makes the same argument that I have tried to present here - confession of and forgiveness of sin is linked to the healing of the body!
For some of those reading this missive, it may be prudent to SEE WHAT THE BIBLE REGARDS AS SIN - IF YOU HAVE DONE SO YOU MAY THEN WISH TO LINE IT UP WITH WHAT YOUR DENOMINATION SAYS SIN IS AND IS NOT, the difference may surprise you as it certainly did me!
