I am busy with blogs discussing the Hebraic understanding / underpinning of Covenants and associated actions: Faith and the reason I believe that those adhering to The Christian understanding of The New Covenant cannot co-exist with those believers in Messiah returning to Covenant (Torah); the essence of Faith - Fidelity and Marriage; however before I can proceed I feel the need to discuss SIN and it's Hebraic / Biblical understanding.
We really need to have a paradigm shift and this can only be achieved by The Ruach HaKodesh in and through Yeshua, however we have a critical part to play in this change and that I believe is well described in Rom 12:1-2 .
So to that end I have made an extract from my working Topic Notes on the subject of SIN based on my learning, investigatioin and thanks in large part also to teachers such as The Rabbi's son:
NB - all my T/N are constantly being revised, reviewed and amended as necessary thus my use of less than flowing eloquent English in their construct -however I think one can follow them easily enough.
It is my firm belief from experience and instruction from others that if we do not understand the Scriptures from this Biblical Eastern perspective we will not really be able to enter into a Covenant with YHWH our ELOHIM through Yeshua - The Elohim of Avram, Yitsak & Yakov - the KING of the Jews HIMSELF as our thought process establish / influence our core value system, our identity and fidelity to our beliefs. He is looking for a mature and equitable relationship based on Knowledge and Wisdom - NOT A CHILD BRIDE WHO IS COERCED into a forced marriage.
You may want to study the Hebraic practice of Marriage - it will more than likely change your concept of our Western, Christian, Legal system of "mixed marriages" that we have today.

SIN IS A BREACH OF RELATIONSHIP! (See T/N - Evil / Wickedness - difference between)
Here is a basic rendering of SIN - but before we go there here is an interesting note of the use of language - SIN is an English word with English connotations - but English did not even begin to form into a language, historians tell us, until the 5th Century C.E. Somewhere around that time Germanic immigrants to or invaders of the British Isles interacted with the primitive inhabitants of those isles and a mixture of tongues that came to be known as “Old English” or “Anglo Saxon English” began to develop. This development continued up to the Norman Invasion in 1066 CE. Then a French influence was added, and the language morphed into what is now called “Middle English”. Somewhere in the 15th Century CE a great vowel shift took hold, and what is now considered ‘Modern English’ started to take root. Now looking at SIN in an Hebraic context as originally meant it is formed from a word Strongs H2398 chata - This ancient Hebrew verb conveys the image of a person in covenant with another missing an assigned Covenant step and stumbling, or casting a stone at a Covenant target and missing the mark. (The Greek word for SIN [Strongs G266 > G264 - properly - to miss the mark] LAW = TORAH - Strongs H8451 > H3384 - to flow as water, to throw, to shoot, to cast, to teach, direct, instruct - 2Ti_3:16-17 arw Joh_5:43-47 - Act_13:39 = Gen_3:15, Num_21:8-9, Num_24:17-18; Deu_18:15, Deu_18:18-19; Act_26:22: See Rom_10:4 -"Messiah is the end [the specific goal, way, truth ect - Strongs G5056 - set out for a definite point - target, goal, ultimate result - as a continual custom - action - HE IS NOT the end of The Torah / THE COVENANT - THE TARGET / MARK] of the LAW [TORAH].
The concept is Hebrew through and through. It arises out of, and has real meaning BUT only in the context of a covenant. It is all about relationship. It means thinking, saying, or doing something inferior to what our Covenant Partner designed for us to think, say and do in order to co-labor with Him in the unfolding and revelation of His Grand Redemptive Plan. HIS Kingdom to come to earth as it is in Heaven.
Unlike the English concept of ‘sin’, chata is not a matter of morality; morality is just a concept produced by minds corrupted by ingesting the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Chata is a matter of relationship. Hence the apostolic writers define all ‘sin’ as a breach of a covenant duty [1Jn_3:4] or a departure from an understood Covenant protocol [Jas_4:17]....... Taking the Hebraic mind / Scriptures into consideration we are now able to see that there cannot be, as the Church claims, a distinction of Moral, Judicial and Ceremonial functions / laws in the Covenant (Torah).
So if you are going to continue to use the word ‘sin’ in your religious conversations, please be sure you understand that what that term refers to is not some vague concept of moral failing –SIN instead describes a thought, word, or action [James 1:12-15] that should be understood to cause damage to a relationship whether with our Bride-Groom King, fellow man or creation all summed up in Torah as applied by the leading of The Ruach again "It is not what you do but the heart with which you do it!" [Mat_22:37-40 and Mar_12:29-31]. (Expanding on the Rabbi's son's teachings) Yeshua's teachings in the Beatitudes [Mat 5:2-16 especially].
See Jas_2:9; Mar_12:28-31 quoting Deu_6:4-5 - loving YHWH with not only our actions but with our very being growing out of a Covenant fidelity 1Jn_5:2-3 which can only be achieved through (Strongs G25 and G26 see topic notes LOVE and Body, Spirit, Soul - Neshema) as worked out through application of Joh_15:14 & Joh_14:15-18 - YET we are told by denominationalism that the Torah is SIN - see Rom_7:7-19
See extensive commentries in Jas_1:25; Psa_119:45; Jas_2:1; Jas_2:8-14; Jas_2:19-24; Jas_2:26 for deeper application of what sin is and the blessings for avoiding it - SIN IS BASED ON FAVOURTISM - choosing one against The Other - choosing the actions of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil above The Tree of LIFE!!
