Eze. 33:1-6: Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Are Christians in Covenant with Messiah Yeshua?

Before posing this seemingly nonsensical, indeed almost heretical and blasphemes question to adherents / Christians of the main line, Sunday worshiping, denominational, religious systems I need to emphasize that this blog has been a long time coming but first I had a simple question which I needed answered:

How could there possibly be two Covenants with polar opposite conditions for one Unified Bride who was supposedly Betrothed to an Echad (Unified) never changing Elohim

There were just to many questions with-in questions within this question; many looses ends with seemingly no outcome: However slowing but surely (progressively) answers, began to slot into place, loose ends began to connect started to arrive until finally a week or so ago, after more than a decade of asking, searching, pondering an answer which tied most loose ends together was presented through a teaching I listened to by Steve Berkson of Messianic Torah Observant Israel. Now thanks to him I am now able to present my answer, as I understand at this time, and as set out below, in a more fluid and hopefully understandable way.

With the groundwork now having been laid let us then return to the topic at hand - Are Christians in Covenant with Messiah Yeshua?

One is inclined to pay such a question little or indeed no heed at all because the default answer / reply of 1/3 of the world population would be - "of course we are in Covenant!" I mean after all they invented and formulated all the teachings and doctrines to support their mode of religion attributed to The New Testament Church of Jesus Christ as we know it today didn't they? - HOWEVER what does The Word say concerning this matter and until what The Sufficency of Scripture is established the question still remains - Are Christians in Covenant with Messiah Yeshua?

Let's begin with what 2 John 1:9 which when read in context can be seen to refer to 2 John 1:5-7 says:

"Everyone who is transgressing (violates) and not staying (present) in the teaching  (doctrine / instruction) of Messiah does not possess (have a relation) [with] Elohim (1 Tim 6:3-5). The one who stays (in a relation) in the teaching of Messiah possesses both The Father and The Son:" (1 John 1:3; 1 John 2:22; 1 John 5:20)

Stop here please and read this again with my inserts from Strongs in white - and for those more comfortable with Afrikaans -

" Elkeen wat ‘n oortreder is en nie bly in die leer van Christus nie, hy het God nie. Wie in die leer van Christus bly, hy het die Vader sowel as die Seun."

We will need to break this down a little - But first: What is this Doctrine / Instruction / Teaching (leer van Christus) being spoken of in 2 John 1:9?

Deut 32:1-4 describes Doctrine (Teaching / Instructions) as declaring the Name (Authority and Character) of Yeshua our Rock;

Prov 4:2 - tell us that to "..give .. good Doctrine / Instruction" is to "NOT FORSAKE MY TORAH".... Prov 4:5 but to "get Wisdom and Understanding"

Gal 1:11-12 - shows that the Doctrine comes from Messiah Himself.

Please note that 1 Tim 6:5 in relation to 1 Tim 6:1 states quite clearly that one not teaching the Doctrine of must be seperated from - this is a very serious matter - I am continually sent matters of Biblical / Spiritual content emanating from Christian sources which cause concern - my answer always is - What position do they hold concerning The Torah?

Now I need to clarify something here if I may: We all, as far as I am aware, came to Torah from out of the denominational system - many of us had prophecies spoken over us, Word given to us which we took to heart and still do to this day - should we now discard all these "markers"? My understanding, and please understand that it is my present understanding, is - No: If we have laid these prophetic matters before YHWH and asked for His discernment regarding them and these prophetic utterances can be seen to have been Ruach inspired and Biblical leading us back to Torah, then I believe that we should hold them as authoritive - but if not then we must obviously discard them. That said, now that we are, by the Grace of YHWH our Elohim returning to a Torah Lifestyle and observance I do not believe we are to return to the denominations from which we have been led out of to seek counsel, teaching, prophecy or doctrinal instructions! Is 8:20; Luke 9:57-62. If we have been led by The Ruach towards the Covenant with Messiah Yeshua surely we should continue going deeper into Him and His Covenant (Rom 12:1-2) and not return to what can best described as the pigstyes from which we have come out of? Luke 15:11-32

1. 2 John 1:7 speaks of those who have left the Body and re-entered the world and are leading members of the Body astray by denying that Messiah came in the flesh (broken Covenant) and by that teaching (that doctrine) they evidence the anti-messiah

Please note: If we are not walking in Covenant we are still DEAD!

2. Yeshua is the walking, talking, living Torah / Covenant, in other words HE IS BY DEFAULT THE DOCTRINE BEING SPOKEN OF ABOVE and to deny the Torah / Covenant, as said before, is to deny Yeshua has come in the flesh and to similtaniously deny The Doctrine of Messiah - the Teaching / Instructions that He (Yeshua The only Law Giver and Judge - Is 33:22 arw James 4:12 and Ps 147:19-20) gave audibly (IN WORDS - John 1:1-2) at Mt Sinai - Ex 20:1, 19; Deut 4:33, 36 and more .

To further flesh out this Truth that Yeshua is the walking / talking / living Doctrine of Messiah, The Torah -

Joh_14:6 (Yeshua is The TRUTH) ---- Psa_119:142 (The Torah is The TRUTH)

John 1:1-2 (Yeshua is The Word) --- Psa_119:160 (The sum of His WORDS are ETERNAL TRUTH)

John14:6 (Yeshua is The Way) -----  Ps 119:1 (Torah is The Way)

John 14:6 (Yeshua is Life) ----- Prov  13:14 (The Torah is Life)

John 8:12 (Yeshua is The Light) ---- Prov 6:23 (The Torah is Light)

1 Cor 1:30 (Yeshua is Wisdom) ---- Prov 4:1-2 & 5; Prov 31:26 & Deut  4:6 (Torah is Wisdom)

John 13:1 (Yeshua is Love) ---- Rom 13:8-10 and Gal 5:14 (Torah is Love - precisely the same LOVE that Yeshua speaks of in John 14:15

And finally to sum up this section -

Joh_1:14 (Yeshua, The WORD / The Torah Became FLESH)-------

Therefore again I must reiterate - Yeshua is the Walking, Talking, Living Torah and to deny The Torah is to deny Yeshua; to deny Yeshua is to deny The Father because Yeshua is the essence of The Father; The Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) is the Character of The Father Elohim Who speaks only of Yeshua (John 16:13-15)! Therefore those denying Torah / Covenant are denying that Messiah came in the flesh and are preaching that to walk in The Torah is not LOVE (2 John 1:5-6) when The Scriptures plainly state that obeying Torah (The Commandments of Yeshua) is LOVE (John 14:15; John 14:21; John 14:23; Ex 20:6 and more) and therefore to preach such a message is to preach another DOCTRINE ( Gal 1:6-10 and 1 Tim 6:3)!

3. James (Ya'akov) says in James 2:19-20 (quoting Deut 6:4) that it is good to believe that Elohim (Father and Son) are ONE - BUT do not stop there - even the demonic powers know that - so saying you believe without any physical proof (ie Actions in accordance with this belief) is pointless -and that it is precisely through these action that one shows whom one worships - and which actions are these? Read James 2:8-13 for a sample of the actions he speaks of - these actions are out of The Torah of Freedom! Please understand that this very same Torah when obeyed in and through Messiah bring blessings (NB: it does not redeem or save us BUT it does bring blessings - Deut 28:1-14; Lev 26:1-13) and when disobeyed (broken) brings curses / negative consequences (Deut 28:15-68; Lev 26:14-46) and it is the consequences for SIN committed which is "nailed to the cross (stake)" - Col 2:13-14 we have never been permitted to DO AWAY WITH THE TORAH!! THAT IS DOING AWAY WITH YESHUA! Rom 7:7, 12-17.

So one may acknowledge that Messiah is Elohim (Mat 24: 4) but they shall lead many astray - by not applying The Torah which is very Character of Yeshua and His Father. Read and ponder James 2:14-26 with special emphasis on James 2:18-20 and then read Deut 6:1-6 - note verse 5 & 6 - "Loving Elohim with all your heart" & "the words shall be in your heart" - this sounds remarkably like what is recorded in Jer 31:31; Heb 8:8-12; Heb 10:16-17 and Eze 36:26-27; 2 Cor 3:2-4?

Now to go back to 2 John 1:9 what Covenant is John (Yochanan) speaking of in his Epistle? The Mt Sinai Covenant - the One entered into between The Creator and His People for eternity (Ex 19:4-9 to Ex 24:8 can be seen as a pericope for the rest of the Torah which expands on the Covenant by adding the regulations, statutes and legal procedures required by The Nation of Israel to keep this Betrothal Covenant).

This Covenant is for the entire Redeemed House of Israel as shown in Eph 2:11-13; here we see where we all, "Jew or Gentile", were before being saved by Faith through Grace enabling us to return to The Torah and walk in the Fullness of this Betrothal Covenant (Eph 2:8-10). Read Rom 11 with emphasis on Rom 11:1-2; 5-8; 11-14; 17-21 with 1 Cor 10:1-4 [vs 8 -mixing pagan religions into YHWH's Covenant Feasts and worship which is strickly prohibited by Torah - Deut 12:29-32] as shown in 1 Cor 10:14-15 - "flee from idolatry"  if you are wise as idolatry equates to adultery in a marriage (See my blog COV!D I9 Covenant from 5 July 2021).

Taking the above into consideration it is therefore my considered opinion that those choosing to remain in the denominations with all the "trimmings" cannot be in Covenant with Yeshua our Messiah as their worship, lifestyle and walk cannot be Biblical, in fact it is so mixed with pagan practices as to make it unrecognisable when held up against The Light of Scripture - Torah / Covenant mandates - they, those voluntarily remaining in the denominational system, may have Blood over their doorposts as our forefathers coming out of Egypt did; they may have had some spiritual experience in the past - BUT THEY HAVE NOT ACCEPTED THE THE MT. SINAI COVENANT AS YET AND MAY ACTUALLY BE WORSHIPING AT THE GOLDEN CALF OF EGYPT RIGHT NOW!

A word of caution as well for those who consider that they are Torah observant but somehow find it necessary to allow those who worship with both Torah observant groups on a Shabbat and Sunday groups to be a part of their assemblies - beware you may find yourselves in the positions described in Numbers 25:1-9 and as referred to in Rev 2:14-15 and in violation of 1 Tim 6:5 spoken of above: And to those finding it expedient to worship with both groups - please read and digest James 1:5-8 arw Rev3:15-22.

We are either in Covenant of NOT - either in The Body or NOT - WE ARE EITHER ONE WITH YESHUA THROUGH HIS COVENANT OR NOT - there is no middle path! See Eph 5: 22-32.

If you are one who is not in Covenant according to Scripture, and it bothers you, DO NOT DESPAIR, all is not lost -  Just the fact that you are concerned is an indication that The Ruach (Holy Spirit) is stirring you. Take heart, He draws us from out of the Nations into Covenant with Him - See Avraham Avinu (Father Abraham, the Father of our Faith) - he was called from out of Ur and only had the Covenant presented to him years later -- and the Covenant was offered to him specifically because of his obedience to the "calling" and this, as we know, was credited by YHWH Elohim as Righteousness! So, is there a stirring in your spirit? Are you being called out of Ur at this time? Answer the call. There is a Hebraic thought pattern which advocates that one must "Leave so that one can arrive" - basically to find yourself, your destiny - COME OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONES!

I believe the hour is late and the day long spent therefore I cannot leave this most urgent and crucial matter here - there is one more aspect of this Covenant situation which I must bring into the light -

I am seeing a direct connection between Rom 1:18-32 esp. vs. 24-28  (see again the sexual perversion and idolising creation [the nature of fallen man - Rom 1:28-32 - Note Covenant breaking amongst these sins]  vs. The Covenant Relationship) and 2 Thes 2:7-12 arw John 9:39; 12:40 - because there are those who are refusing to "accept a LOVE for the Truth" (Yeshua and His Covenant as presented for the taking SHOULD ONE BE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE) Elohim is giving them up to a "delusion so that they will believe a falsehood"  in order to be judged because they "they did not believe the TRUTH BUT delighted in unrighteousness!"

I have a series of directives / teaching brewing within my spirit and Abba willing I shall present them as instructed in due course. I am of the opinion that these teachings are crucial to our path going forward in the days ahead.

We will not make this without Yeshua; His leading, protection, provision and Covenant (Ps 23:4 & 6). In these time, possibly more than ever before in our lives, we are called to be LIGHT and SALT to the Nations. How then can we walk  contrary to Yeshua and His Covenant? Do you not know that to walk in contravention of That Covenant, Torah / Doctrine is sin? - 1 John 3:4-7 & 5:17.

Once again please do not believe what I say - check it out against Scripture with prayer.

Shalom

Boaz
