Eze. 33:1-6: Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Just a thought: Easter vs. Passover

As we all, believers and those not so believing, who live in the Western World will know we  have just been through the season of the Easter holidays.

For those celebrating Easter, the time has past, whilst for those celebrating Passover (Pesach) there are those of us still awaiting the Appointed Time when we are to celebrate this called out Holy Feast day.

What I would like to do here, whether we celebrate Easter or Passover, is just have a quick look at a few points of fact related to the foundations of these two vastly different Feasts to stimulate possible thought on our behalf .

The word Passover, according to my online Lexicon, has been used 71 times in the King James, whilst the word Easter has been used once and that is in Acts 12:4 and this verse is found in the context of the execution of James (Ya'akov) and the imprisonment of Peter (Kefa) by Herod for political reasons.

Verse 3 of Acts 4 plainly tells us that this was at the time of unleavened bread, in other words the Biblical Passover.

The Word translated as Easter in Acts 12:4 is from the Greek Strongs G3957 - pascha  - the passover (the meal, the day, the festival or special sacrifices connected to it) - See H6453 -

H6453 - pehsakh from H6452 - passover

H6452 - pawsakh - a primitive root, to hop over, fig. skip over or spare, by implication, to hesitate, also lit. to limp or dance, leap, pass over.

The word "passover" is recorded 27 times in the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) and all these times the word translated as Passover comes from the Greek G3957 - pascha!

So it would seem obvious to the most casual of observers, that the use of the word Easter used in Acts 12:4 is not a correct translation of the original text! (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t019.html)

Lets have a quick look at the etymology for the word Easter: It is reputed to have come from the name for the goddess Ishtar, Semiramis and other names; possibly even Hadassah, the Esther of Biblical fame who was renamed (NOT BY YHWH) to reflect the deity Ishtar (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t020.htmlhttps://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Esther).

The name Ishtar (also variously recorded as Venus, Queen of Heaven, Isis, Aphrodite, Astarte and other names in different language pagan and ancient Middle Eastern and Persian nations) is mentioned on numerous occasions in The Bible as any simple Google search will reveal.

This personage, according to pagan deity worship and legend, was the mother/wife of the sun god Tammuz who is spoken of in the Word in Ezekiel 8:14.

Dates Christian/Catholic Easter festivals are celebrated on are seemingly arrived at by adoption of a pre-determined lunar/solar calculation inaugurated by Constantine and seemingly ratified by the Council of Nicaea in CE 325. (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/easter-date.html), and the choice of this date had to do with the the positioning of the sun and the occurrence of the Spring Equinox - NOT ELOHIM'S ESTABLISHED METHOD AS RECORDED IN THE WORD - Ex. 12:1ff arw Ex. 9:31 where HE brings the whole of Creation - sun, moon and nature together in harmony to decide on His seasons and as we have very definitely seen Him evidence this year; Lev. 23:4-8

Easter of course also has all the trimmings which we do not find in the Bible, the easter eggs (fertility symbols of Ishtar); the hot-cross buns; the easter rabbit - http://mystery-babylon.org/easter.html.

It is unfortunately a well known fact that the early Church adopted many of the pagan rituals of the conquered Roman Empire in an attempt to "attract" pagans to Christ Jesus - (https://www.christianhistoryinstitute.org/magazine/article/worshiping-like-pagans/; http://www.goodnewsaboutgod.com/studies/holidays2.htm) so then is it any wonder that we have The Church of England building pagan temples to attract pagans (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/10133906/Church-of-England-creating-pagan-church-to-recruit-members.html) and Chrislam being accepted in many areas of Christianity (http://www.infowars.com/in-new-york-pope-francis-embraced-chrislam-and-laid-a-foundation-for-a-one-world-religion/ ; http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/chrislam-starts-to-spread-in-america/)?

This is where Christianity began when it renounced the Word of YHWH and befriended the World by becoming Politically Correct; by rejecting the Torah Roots of Messiah and His People and setting aside verses such as Deut. 12:29-31 and adding to and subtracting from His Word as we were told to never do in Deut. 4:2; 12:32 and Rev. 22:19 and by doing so, and continuing on this path of adding and subtracting to/from His Word, we risk having our names being removed from The Book of Life, and even more dastardly, we have made Yeshua out to be a liar and a cheat because HE now condones the sin that His Father has sent previous generations to Hell for (Mat. 10:28; Mat. 25:41); because HE now refutes Scripture which says that the wages of sin are death (Rom. 6:23); thus according to The Jesus of the Church sin is no longer sin (1 John 3:4), and Yeshua has thus changed and is now a fickle sinner HIMSELF, and CANNOT BE THE MESSIAH!

Do you see what we have done dear brethren? It is not just the changing of a day and it's Biblical mandate, it is a changing of The Living Word through our actions and THEREBY MAKING A FOOL OF HIM!

May HE forgive us!

Please read this carefully, it expounds on much of what I am saying here - THE WAY IN WHICH WE EXERCISE OUR ACTIONS OVER AREA'S WE HAVE CONTROL OF ARE WHAT PEOPLE LOOK AT TO DEFINE OUR WALK WITH YESHUA, THIS DEFINES OUR TESTIMONY IN HIM - IT IS NOT A RELIGIOUS WALK - IT IS A PERSONAL, BIBLICALLY COVENANTED, RUACH LED WALK!

We each have to make up our own minds and decide to walk as He directs us according to HIS WAYS - NOT THE WAYS OF MAN OR NOT!

Just a thought which may be cause to span eternity,

Shalom in Messiah Yeshua.

Bo'az
