I heard somebody say the other day that it is not that we do not ask questions, but we generally ask the wrong questions.
My biggest problem however is that when it comes to The Word of Life it is not that we do not ask questions either correctly or incorrectly - IT IS THAT WE DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS AT ALL FULL STOP. Thus I hope to remedy that ailment because I believe that YHWH, knowing what we are like, raises up people, situations and events to pose the necessary questions, and I hope and trust that this missive is just such a prompting which will hopefully cause a responce from other believers!
Whilst on this subject of questions needing to be asked, addressed and answered, and before we begin, I need to say that it has been my experience that just about everything that we ever thought we knew or were taught in the Churches, from whence we have basically all come out of, has been accepted as pure truth as clean as the driven snow, thus when matters are addressed or questioned they cannot be answered satisfactorily in a short and simple way - in fact the vast majority of the subjects addressed need to be answered in a sort of reverse engineered way whereby one begins with the question and starts to work back to the foundations and as one would expect this method takes time and effort on behalf of the one attempting to address the question at hand as well as the recipient to whom the answer is addressed. So please, buckle up as this is another long and winding road of reverse engineering in progress.
Although I have seen this issue of increasing division between the so called Hebrew Roots Movement (HRM) and the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) accompanied either wittingly or not by her daughters, the Mainline Denominational Churches (MDC) this missive addressing the issues of division has taken on a life of its’ own so please I would urge you to read and study through to the end as I believe that what I am wanting to address here could very easily be part of the massive and lethal deception that Yeshua spoke of in Mat. 24:4, 24 but a much more subtle and deeper level than I ever imagined.
This chance to tackle this subject of such division was presented a few days ago when I was invited to comment on a Youtube presentation wherein a MDC preacher calls out other MDC leaders adjudging them to be false prophets, a situation which I found to be a classic situation of the pot calling the kettle black, thus I was presented with the ideal opportunity to now be able to begin to systematically address what I believe are causes of this theological unbridgeable chasm between the HRM and the RCC/MDC.
I am sure that there are already many out there claiming that the MDC has absolutely nothing to do with the RCC, I personally would disagree with such a claim for many a reason but primarily, and for this missive which I hope to conclude in two parts, let me settle on the historical fact that it was the RCC that introduced official Sunday worship as their sign of their Covenant with Jesus (Yeshua) our Creator and King, a Covenantal sign which the MDC still cling to doggedly if not desperately to this day even though they largely admit to the 7th day Sabbath being the Biblically correct day of worship: Secondly it was the RCC who played a major role in formalising the Trinity Doctrine , thus just in these two matters we see a common thread of maternal Catholic unity between the Mother Church (RCC) and her daughters (MDC). A similar statement is made by Martin Luther when he declared that the word Trinity is not in The Bible although he accepted this Doctrine, adhered to it and taught it.
For ease of reference here is a more formal version of the foundational Creed whereupon the Trinity Doctrine is founded:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary…………
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
(Extracted from the Apostolic Creed which is of unknown history, origin or authorship, but claimed too have come from and been taught by the Apostles of the 1st Century)
Here is a RCC explanation of how they view this Doctrine (My emphasis added): http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p1s2c1p2.htm:
"The Trinity is One. We do not confess three Gods, but one God in three persons, the "consubstantial Trinity". The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves but each of them is God whole and entire: "The Father is that which the Son is, the Son that which the Father is, the Father and the Son that which the Holy Spirit is, i.e. by nature one God." In the words of the Fourth Lateran Council (1215), "Each of the persons is that supreme reality, viz., the divine substance, essence or nature."
It would seem that the Apostolic Creed for the protestant denominations is similar to the one cited above with the exception of “the holy catholic church” being substituted as deemed necessary with a similar wording such as “universal church” but excluding the word Catholic, although I have heard this Creed now being recited by protest congregations/gatherings using the words holy Catholic Church.
In my understanding and put as succinctly as possible I interpret the Trinity Doctrine to declare that GOD IS ONE IN ESSENCE & THREE IN PERSON.
It is commonly taught and believed that if one does not believe in the Trinity concept ONE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN, in fact one could (possibly still will be) branded a HERETIC - it is that binding and foundational to the RCC/MDC system of belief.
But how Biblically solid is this Doctrine which binds the RCC and MDC at the hip, in fact this euphemism should be taken further and be described as an unsevered umbilical cord linking the MDC to Mother Rome?
Now if you have not already guessed, this topic of The Trinity will be the focus of this first missive so let’s begin with The HarperCollins Encyclopaedia of Catholicism which says, “Today, however, scholars generally agree that there is no doctrine of the Trinity as such in either the OT or the NT ... It would go far beyond the intention and thought-forms of the OT to suppose that a late-fourth-century or thirteenth-century Christian doctrine can be found there ... Likewise, the NT does not contain an explicit doctrine of the Trinity.” — (Richard McBrien, general editor, 1995, “God,” pp. 564, 565).
And the HarperCollins Bible Dictionary states, “The formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the NT.” — (Paul Achtemeier, editor, 1996, “Trinity”)
Millard Erickson who is a research professor of theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary writes about this same Trinity Doctrine that it “is not clearly or explicitly taught anywhere in Scripture, yet it is widely regarded as a central doctrine, indispensable to the Christian faith. In this regard, it goes contrary to what is virtually an axiom of biblical doctrine, namely, that there is a direct correlation between the scriptural clarity of a doctrine and its cruciality to the faith and life of the church. In view of the difficulty of the subject and the great amount of effort expended to maintain this doctrine, we may well ask ourselves what might justify all this trouble.” — (God in Three Persons: A Contemporary Interpretation of the Trinity, p. 12)
He further states that the Trinity teaching “is not present in biblical thought, but arose when biblical thought was pressed into this foreign mold (sic) [of Greek concepts]. Thus, the doctrine of the Trinity goes beyond and even distorts what the Bible says about God.” — (lbid, p. 20)
He also stated, “It is claimed that the doctrine of the Trinity is a very important, crucial, and even basic doctrine. If that is indeed the case, should it not be somewhere more clearly, directly, and explicitly stated in the Bible? If this is the doctrine that especially constitutes Christianity's uniqueness ... how can it be only implied in the biblical revelation? ... For here is a seemingly crucial matter where the Scriptures do not speak loudly and clearly. Little direct response can be made to this charge. It is unlikely that any text of Scripture can be shown to teach the doctrine of the Trinity in a clear, direct, and unmistakable fashion.” — (lbid, pp. 108, 109) Emphasis added.
Therefore it would seem that the entire Christian Faith may be based on some or other Doctrine that cannot be found or substantiated in the Words of Scripture and is described by Erickson as a doctrine that is pressed into a foreign mould which distorts what The Bible says about Elohim and its very presentation is “virtually an axiom of Biblical Doctrine!”
Surely if we are serious about being Truth seekers these sorts of scholarly comments (and there are a great number more) should worry us immensely, especially when the entire RCC/MDC system of religion base their theology, and thus salvation and eternity there upon?
The truth be told this state of affairs worries me endlessly and especially as I for one do not believe the Bible supports the doctrine of The Trinity so I place for your scrutiny and attention a few of my reasons for making this seemingly bold statement, a statement I do not, believe me, make lightly at all as this is what I grew up with believing to be the TRUTH and upon which I based my eternal life and relationship with YHWH Elohim!
I know we could reason that what could possibly be the problems with such a Doctrine, especially when almost 2.3 billion people seem to adhere to it? (Link - Mat. 7:13-14; Prov. 14:12)
Firstly the Hebraic community (today commonly known as the Jews) from whose roots the RCC / MDC claim they were birthed, cannot and will not accept the Christian concept of the Trinity. This impasse obviously creates a massive problem when trying to share The Christian concept of the Gospel with the Jews, additionally all the Bible translations and explanations that the MDC use when trying to share the Gospel with the Jews are obviously translated, understood and taught with the Trinitarian understanding of the Scriptures.
Thus this concept of the MDC from the get go in is seen by the Jews as both fallacious and arrogant, fallacious precisely because of the Trinity concept, in fact many of the Jews say that Christianity was a heretic religion based on Paul’s (Sha’ul’s) writing and not Yeshua Words and Testimony at all thus even denying any real Hebraic origins of the RCC/MDC completely; and secondly arrogant because the Hebrews themselves (the Jews for this exercise) have been entrusted by YHWH with His oracles and the protection of said oracles and the RCC/MDC attempt to tell them that they are wrong whilst they, the RCC/MDC deny the very Biblical essence of YHWH Elohim! (Rom. 3:1-3)
As I have said it is my objective in this missive to explore this concept of the Trinity just a little, and I emphasise “just a little” because as is evident this subject is massive on I am hoping that all who read this will be prompted into doing their own research on this matter. The Trinity concept of YHWH Elohim has spanned almost 2 millennia and has been so chiselled and etched into the minds and psyche of the “Christian” that it is possible that without the help of The Ruach we will not be able to ever see past this distortion of Scripture, so pray, pray, pray asking for His Truth - not mans.
Deut. 6:4 says emphatically that YHWH Elohim is ONE - the word used in the original Hebrew Scriptures for One is Echad - unified, go in one direction, first, alike, alone, only. In other words according to Hebraic thought YHWH Elohim is The absolute ONE; The indivisible ONE; The incomparable Being Who is The Ultimate Cause of all existence; He is a Single, a Whole Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES - so in essence no matter what the MDC may profess or say they think or even believe, it is impossible for a Hebraic person to accept the Trinity and still be true to his, may I say it - Jewishness! Thus to a Hebrew mind Deut. 6:4 which we have translated as:
Hear of Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.
Would for him be rendered something like this:
Hear, understand, declare and witness to the fact oh Yisrael (those that would rule with YHWH Elohim in His Kingdom on this world for eternity) that YHWH our/the supreme AUTHORITIES, YHWH is the absolute ONE; the indivisible ONE; The incomparable Being Who is The Ultimate Cause of all existence; He is a Single, He is a Whole Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES
Please remember that these “Jews”, a term and label which we I personally feel is too readily and thoughtlessly throw around, are the very people that YHWH chose to give His Oracles, His Covenant and the responsibility of guarding their integrity to. Maybe we should begin to pay some attention to them and begin to investigate their understanding of this Covenant and it’s accompanying oracles. I am not saying they are correct in everything they say or do either, but they certainly have a far greater understanding of The Word (The Tanakh) and its nuances in its original form than we do, and from my own experience I have found that our Protestant Greek inclined translations are often lacking in areas’ whereas some of The Semitic translations are more helpful in my search for and walk with YHWH Elohim and His Son, yet from our side there is an almost arrogant, and on occasions, condescending way in which we speak of, and deal with the “Jews”. It would seem that we think we have it all together and the “Jews” do not. Need I remind us to pay heed to the admonition of Sha’ul (Paul) contained in Rom. 11:1-12:3.
So with that ground work laid shall we begin our quest to look out of and to test the box of established religion and doctrine we have all inherited from the RCC/MDC?
a. Firstly we have the discourse with the woman of Samaria as recorded in John 4:21-26 in which Yeshua, a Jew Himself, in fact the King from the Tribe of Judah, is making it plain in vs. 21 that we are to worship The Father; vs. 22 He makes it very clear that The Jews (the recorders and keepers of the Oracles and from Whom Yeshua Himself was born out of as pointed out above) know Who they are worshipping, in fact all the translations render this section thus - please remember it is Yeshua speaking to a Samaritan, a person from the mixed tribes coming out of the lost tribes & now living in part of the lost and banished Northern Kingdom of Israel - “WE WORSHIP WHAT WE DO KNOW BUT that the Samaritans DO NOT; vs. 23 records Yeshua again emphasising that The Father is to be worshipped - AND THAT THE FATHER CAN ONLY BE WORSHIPPED IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH BECAUSE THAT IS HOW THE FATHER REQUIRES TO BE WORSHIPPED - vs. 24 YESHUA HIMSELF NOW STATES UNEQUIVOCALLY THAT ELOHIM IS SPIRIT and thus ties up and declares that THE FATHER IS SPIRIT! Seeing as this portion of Scripture is also referring in vs. 21 to a time when worship would become universal and with the destruction of The Temple would not only done in Yerusaliem at The Temple, I would venture that this would have been a very good place for Yeshua to introduce The Ruach HaKodesh as a third portion of The God Head - but HE does not, except to later say in John 14:15-18 that-
b. If we love Yeshua, which is shown and proved by the keeping, watching with the intention of guarding His commandments, the very Torah which He promised would never be annulled or done away with in Mat. 5:17ff, then He, Yeshua, would Himself PRAY and ask The Father, the same Father Who is Spirit and Truth according to John 4:21-26, to give us, those watching, keeping & guarding His Commandments, His Torah, His Marriage Covenant, THE COMFORTER SO AS TO ABIDE WITH US - AND WHO IS THIS COMFORTER? The Spirit of Truth, The Spirit of The Father Himself according to John 4:21-26.
c. Here now we see this mystery being further unravelled and in my opinion we are provided here with a strong tool which can be used in the debunking of the Trinity myth: In John 14:18 it is recorded that Yeshua Himself says that HE, YESHUA, will not leave His Disciple (those keeping His Commandments) alone or uncomforted, in fact the Greek word used here is orphanos which means to be left FATHERLESS.
NB: Here is something which I believe is very important to grasp & understand:
John 14:16 - Yeshua says that He will pray Abba to send a COMFORTER - G 3875 - parakletos - an intercessor, consoler:- advocate, comforter.
John 14:26 - Yeshua says that the COMFORTER (G3875 - parakletos) is THE RUACH HAKODESH!
John 15:26 - Yeshua says that when the COMFORTER (COUNSELLOR in the CJB, HELPER in the Scriptures - G3875 - parakletos)Whom He will send from the Father at (Shavuot / Pentecost), this COMFORTER, also called THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH - WILL BEAR WITNESS OF YESHUA HIMSELF.
John 16:7 - Yeshua encourages His Disciples by telling them that it is to their benefit that He goes away because if He does not THE COMFORTER (G3875 - parakletos) WILL NOT COME TO THEM!
1 John 2:1 - Here we have the Apostle Yochanan (John) telling the 1st Century believers that they must not sin (1 John 3:4) but should they sin they have an ADVOCATE with the Father, and that ADVOCATE IS YESHUA THE MESSIAH, THE LAMB WITHOUT SIN! What is the Greek word translated as ADVOCATE - G 3875 - parakletos - an intercessor, consoler:- advocate, comforter and Who is that COMFORTER, THAT PARAKLETOS? YESHUA THE MESSIAH!
This word G 3875 - parakletos is only used in these five (5) verses in the entire Bible according to Strongs.
I realise that in John 14:16 Yeshua says that He will send another comforter which could lead one to believe that Yeshua is going to send another comforter beside Himself - so allow us to look briefly then at the word another in the original Greek. The word translated as another is the Greek word Strongs G243 allos - which according to the Vines Greek New Testament Dictionary - allos - “another like Himself”. (http://gospelhall.org/bible/bible.php?search=allos&dict=vine&lang=greek)
Now to end this paragraph (c) off let's tie the 5 verses above in with John 14:18 in which Yeshua promises that HE WILL NOT EVER LEAVE HIS DISCIPLES AS ORPHANS and the Word has painted us a pretty clear picture for those who have eyes to see out of the Scriptures themselves - in fact out of the very Mouth of The Word Himself that He tells us that HE, The Messiah, is The Ruach HaKodesh and therefore the Ruach is not some third entity!
To flesh this out a bit Yeshua is saying THAT HE, YESHUA AND THE FATHER ARE ONE, The absolute ONE; The indivisible ONE; The incomparable Being Who is The Ultimate Cause of all existence; He is a Single, He is a Whole Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES. YESHUA IS DECLARING THAT HE AND ABBA, YHWH ELOHIM ARE OF PRECISELY THE SAME ESSENCE!
Yeshua is saying that He YESHUA IS THE “BEIT” (The House) of EL-SHADDAI (Heb. 3:1-6) which The Ruach attributes to Himself by saying that our forefathers, rejected HIM, The Rock (1Cor. 10:1-5) whilst in the wilderness when He presented them with the same Gospel as we are being presented with to this very day (Heb. 4:1-2) and we know that there is noir even a mention of a Triune God in the Tanakh!
It is therefore my belief and understanding that YESHUA IS SAYING THAT HE IS OUR COUNSELLOR (The Ruach of Truth) which is exactly what Is. 9:6-7 says and exactly what Yeshua says of The Father in John 4:21-26! Again I reiterate that they, Father (Ruach HaKodesh - Holy Spirit) and Son (King, Redeemer, Shepherd) are The absolute ONE; The indivisible ONE; The incomparable Being Who is The Ultimate Cause of all existence; He is a Single, a Whole Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES.
d. Now we turn to Yeshua’s prayer to His Father and as recorded in John 17, we read in vs. 1-3 that Yeshua after having made certain requests and confirmations to The Father affirms in vs. 3 that the way to achieve eternal life is to know the only true Elohim and His Son whom He, Elohim has sent. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF THE NEED TO KNOW THE RUACH HAKODESH, THE SAME RUACH WE ARE TOLD WILL LEAD US INTO ALL THRUTH AND RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THE ATTAINMENT OF ETERNAL LIFE!
HOW COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE?
Simply because the Father and Son ARE THE RUACH HaKODESH!
The Father draws the Lost to Yeshua (John 6:44) and Yeshua reveals the Father to those the Father has drawn to Him (John 14:6-22), and this is the work attributed also to the Holy Spirit (John 16:12-15).
Now let’s also stop here for a moment and look at the word I highlighted in para (d) John 17:1-3 above: The word know in a Hebraic mindset comes from the Hebrew word yada - to know in an intimate way by experience, to know (a person carnally), to cause to know - making introductions, to declare, to have knowledge of, to teach, to discern. This root word yada is seen as the word used in Gen.18:19 where YHWH confirms that He knows Abraham because Abraham will keep YHWH’s instructions and teach them to his family - thus know - yada is a Covenant word so we see that to gain eternal life it is necessary to know Elohim in a Covenant Way, and we have concluded that Elohim is our Father, Who is also The Ruach HaKodesh and the essence of His Son Yeshua. ONE INDIVISIBLE ELOHIM.
Whilst on the matter of true and Covenantal relationships being attained through the knowing of YHWH Elohim see what 1 John 1:3(b) states is true fellowship (G2844 - koinonos -partnership, companion, a sharer, partaker, communion) - it is fellowship with The Father and The Son BUT NO WHERE IS MENTIONED THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Now please consider this if you would: If Yeshua only ever did as His Father told Him and nothing more; if Yeshua was without any sin because He never broke the Torah; if Yeshua showed His Love for His Father and His Creation by obeying Torah, The Covenant, how then is it possible that we today can live our lives without it and claim that we LOVE YESHUA and can be baptised in the Ruach of The Father and are in true fellowship with YHWH Elohim?
Something else to ponder here - Sha’ul tells us that we are to Love one another and thereby shall fulfil the Torah (Rom. 13:8-10). The MDC will tell us that Sha’ul is saying love is all based on our feelings and what we may think is socially or humanly correct and acceptable, however Yeshua tells us that Love is the obeying of The Torah (John 14:15) with less feelings, less social structure but more physical action - how could we bring this together? In Mat. 22:37-40 we see the solution to what seems to be a clash of Theological Doctrine between Messiah Yeshua and Sha’ul, a clash in which unfortunately the MDC give the victory to Sha'ul, in Mat. 22:37-40 Yeshua upholds the Torah (Deut. 6:5 & Lev. 19:8) - Yeshua says quite plainly, if we look at it Hebraically, that we must first show our LOVE for YHWH Elohim - How do we do that? By coming into a Covenant relationship with Him and then, and only then can we love our neighbour as YHWH Elohim considers righteous, and how would we do/show that Love? By applying the Covenant, the Torah towards our neighbour as Elohim our Abba applies to us which is exactly what Sha’ul is saying in Rom.13.
Reading the rest of John 17, the greatest prayer in the entire Word of Elohim, the prayer in which Yeshua pleads for His Disciples present and those who to be redeemed in the future right up till His return at the end of the age, prays for all their protection - YET NOT A WORD IS UTTERED ABOUT THE SPIRIT, in fact the last we hear of the Ruach HaKodesh in the Gospel of John is mentioned in John. 16, and why is this be? BECAUSE YESHUA HAS FINISHED HIS WORK AND MAKES HIS PROMISE OF THE COMING OF THE RUACH, THE SPIRIT OF THE FATHER, THE SPIRIT OF HIMSELF, THE SPIRIT OF THIS absolute ONE; The indivisible ONE; The incomparable Being Who is The Ultimate Cause of all existence; He is a Single, a Whole Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES.
So through this entire discourse with the woman at the well; His assurance of Comfort and the giving of The Ruach HaKodesh to His Disciples that are going to be absolutely traumatised and sifted in the very near future; the prayer of John 17; YESHUA NEVER ONCE SAYS THERE IS A DIFFERENT RUACH HAKODESH APART FROM HIM AND THE FATHER - indeed He in point of fact shows that The Father is The Ruach HaKodesh and that He, Yeshua is also The Ruach HaKodesh and that He and the Father are ONE - ECHAD - as written in Deut. 6:4.
Please consider this:
Everything we ask for or do is to the honour and glory of The Father (John 14:13-14; John 16:23-24; Php. 4:6-7): It would seem that Scripture never instructs us to pray to Yeshua however we are instructed to approach Abba through Yeshua His Authority); we are instructed to call upon the Name (Authority) of Yeshua (1 Cor. 1:2 derived from Joel 2:32), ask in The Name (Authority) of Yeshua (John 14:13-14); praise through The Name (Authority) of Yeshua (1 Pet. 4:11); in the honour of the Name (Authority) given to Yeshua every knee shall bow and tongue confess, in heaven and on earth that Yeshua is Adonai The Messiah = YHWH (G2962 kurios - used in the Septuagint LXX where Masoretic Text has YHWH) - to the honour and glory of Elohim our Abba (Father - Php. 2:10-11): But yet we are never explicitly instructed in The Word to Worship, Speak, Pray to or through The Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit)? NO, NOT ONCE as far as I can see: So why is it then that if Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equal, three entirely different but the same Gods in One, all required to be equally honoured and worshiped according to The Trinity Doctrine but not a single one of these attributes or accolades given to Abba or Yeshua are accredited to the Holy Spirit?
Could it be because the Father and the Son are the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit is not some “other” part of the God Head?
Could it be that when we grieve the Ruach HaKodesh we are grieving The Father and that this would be a contravention of the 10 Commandments to Honour Our Father and that to grieve our Fathers will bring a curse upon us? (Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16; Eph. 6:15)
Now to illuminate another angle of this missive: Yeshua, as hopefully shown above, refers to Elohim as His Father - SO WHO WAS THE ONE WHO CAME UPON MIRIAM (MARY) AND CAUSED HER TO CONCEIVE, WHO WAS YESHUA, EMMANUEL'S (ELOHIM WITH US) FATHER? If we are to believe the Scriptures then according to Mat. 1:20 THE FATHER OF YESHUA IS THE RUACH HAKODESH HIMSELF and to not labour the point too much - YET WHO DOES YESHUA CALL HIS FATHER? John 14:9-11 Yeshua makes absolutely no bones about the fact as to WHO HIS FATHER IS!
See also that Sha’ul (the man that the Jews accredit as being the author and introducer of the Christian religion that the RCC/MDC preach) himself whilst penning 1 Cor. 8:1-6, which is a veritable treasure trove of Torah teaching in and of itself but that is for another day, makes no mention of The Ruach HaKodesh being a required and separate “Entity” apart from Elohim the Father (1 Cor. 8:6) or Yeshua, or that another “portion of The God Head” is needed to lead us to knowledge!
See 1 Cor. 8:7 - could this “mystery” of Father and Son alone being ECHAD and the Ruach being the essence of the Father Who Himself permeates and dwells in Yeshua The Son still be something that not everyone has knowledge of?
A few more points to consider before closing:
If the Apostles of The 1st Century practiced and taught the Trinity Doctrine then why does Acts 1:1-2 portray Yeshua and The Ruach HaKodesh as being one and the same in function with Yeshua working through The Ruach? Does it not appear that Yeshua is now in fact using then Ruach because it is Who He is?
If the Apostles of the 1st Century supposedly practiced and taught the Trinity Doctrine why then would those same Apostles one would presume referred to in Acts 1:2 open almost every salutations recorded in the entire Brit Chadashah (N/T) by greeting the believers and swearing allegiance, homage and authority to Yeshua and/or Elohim our Father on all recorded occasions and yet NEVER EVER INCLUDE THE SUPPOSEDLY EQUAL TRIUNE HOLY SPIRIT in these greetings of unity, allegiance and authority?
A reading of 2 Cor. 3 with this concept now in mind also shows the connection between The Father, Yeshua and His Renewing of the Eternal Covenant as prophesied in Jer. 31:31-37, and Jer. 31 leads me to the next myth we need to destroy on our quest for the Truth:
Jer. 31:31 says simply and succinctly that this Renewed Covenant which will mean the original Torah being written on our hearts will be entered into by YHWH Elohim with The House of Judah & The House of Israel - not with any RCC/MDC as they teach - but that is for the next missive Abba willing.
This has been a long and involved missive, a missive many may even think is largely superfluous because does it really make a difference whether we believe in a Trinity or not because after all we can agree on the fact that there is a Father, Son and Holy Spirit - Right?
No, it does matter - I have seen too many people declare that the Holy Spirit has told them that they can go against established and eternal Biblical truth - WHERE DOES THIS SPIRIT OF DECEPTION AND LAWLESSNESS COME FROM AND WHO THEN ARE THEY LISTENING TO?
If I am to understand the essence of the Trinity Doctrine it teaches that there are 3 completely separate co-equal (in every respect); coeternal; all knowing, all powerful God’s who are somehow also all one. (Link 1 the Christian Reformed Church is very similar in context to the Protestant version of the Creed, see here in Link 2 for the NGK) So, if I am correct in my assumptions, we now have 2 Spirits, The Spirit of The Father and the Holy Spirit - both completely separate but also both one. To this confusion, and remember in Elohim there is no confusion (1 Cor. 14:33) yet we live blissfully with this double minded confusion in contradiction of James 1:6-8, we also have Jesus Who is also a completely separate entity to The Father and The Holy Spirit. So we are back to the Trinity.
Now I come to the crux of this missive:
How would this Trinity Doctrine on which by their own admissions the entire Gospel of Christendom is defined and founded on and as spelt out in the Creeds line up with Scriptures such as 1 John 2:22 which states that the liar is one that says Yeshua is NOT THE MESSIAH & thus one who denies the Father and the Son?
NIV: Who is the liar? It is the man that denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist - he denies the Father and the Son.
CJB: Who is a liar at all, if not the person who denies that Yeshua is the Messiah? Such a person is an anti-Messiah - he is denying the Father and the Son.
LITV: Who is the liar, except the one denying, saying that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son.
AOV: Wie is die leuenaar, behalwe hy wat ontken dat Jesus die Christus is? Dit is die antichris wat die Vader en die Seun loën.
How are the Father and Son being denied by the Trinity Doctrine?
The Trinity belies the fact that Yeshua is the very BEGOTTEN SON OF ELOHIM HIMSELF THEREBY DENYING THAT YESHUA (JESUS) IS THE ANOINTED & PROMISED SON OF ELOHIM -
NB: go back to the episode of the son promised to Avraham - this is a foreshadowing of The Father and Messiah Yeshua. In Gen. 15:1-6 we are shown YHWH telling Avraham Avinu that he is to have a son from his own loins, and that HIS PROMISED INHERITANCE WILL NOT GO TO SOMEBODY OF ANOTHER PARENTAGE EVEN IF HE IS A TRUSTED BONDSERVANT IN AVRAHAM’S HOME. The application of the Trinity Doctrine annuls and makes a mockery of the absolute ONE; an indivisible ONE Who CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO PARTS OR DESCRIBED BY ATTRIBUTES of YHWH Elohim.
So for Yeshua to be denied as The Messiah one would simply have to deny that the Father and Yeshua are ONE, in other words are TRULY FATHER AND SON, so if the Trinity denies this fact of the ONENESS of the Father and Son then, according to 1 John 2:22 Yeshua is being denied as the Messiah and that as shown then denies both Father and Son.
Now we move to 1 John 4:3 which states that:
KJV: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that of the antichrist….
AOV: En elke gees wat nie bely dat Jesus Christus in die vlees gekom het nie, is nie uit God nie; en dit is die gees van die antichris….
Again we all say that we believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is The Son of Elohim, His Father, but do we really believe what we say, have we really thought this through?
Going back to the Trinity Doctrine we once again are presented with completely separate origins for the Father, the Son AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, so by logically applying the Trinity Doctrine Yeshua MUST BE THE SON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, A SPIRIT NOT OF THE FATHER, A FATHER WHOM WE HAVE SHOWN IS ELOHIM and this makes an absolute mockery of 1 John 4:3 and clearly is in absolute denial of Yeshua The Messiah being Elohim (The Father) in the flesh. The only way we can bring this Scripture, 1 John 4:3 and Mat. 1:20 together is IF THE FATHER IS THE RUACH HAKODESH!
Now turning to 2 John 1:7 we read a similar admonition from The Apostle, but here he pens that this denial that Yeshua did not come in the flesh is attributed to those he refers to as deceivers & antichrists.
Please read the above explanations for 1 John 2:22 & 1 John 4:3 together with 2 John 1:7 and Mat.24:5 & 24-28. I believe that this Trinity Doctrine that has no beginning, no substance and most importantly no credible Biblical validation at all is the root of the deception that Yeshua warned us of.
This begs us now to ask ourselves where we stand with YHWH Elohim. Where do we stand with the myriad of oaths we have laid of in the Church system, christenings; confirmations (Heidelerg Katisasies), baptisms, marriages even our rebirths? If you agree with what the Scriptures are saying regarding the unbiblical foundations of The Trinity Doctrine, and your Denomination ascribes to The Trinity Doctrine where do YOU stand within your local Denomination? And more importantly - where to now?
I would suggest we all search our hearts and confess our association with this deception and our blaspheming of the Name (Authority) of YHWH Elohim.
Secondly I would really consider fleeing out of Babylon and the confusion of the RCC/MDC because another Gospel is being preached - Is. 52:11-12; Rev. 18:4; Gal. 1:6-9.
Thirdly seek the council of The Ruach HaKodesh, The Spirit of our Father through Messiah Yeshua our redeemer and King asking Him to direct you to where He will need you to be!
Ask questions, be diligent - show yourselves to be Berians & remember 1 John 2:21 tells us that a lie can never come from the Truth & The Truth will never come out of a lie - each and every one of us has a responsibility to work out his/her own salvation with fear and trepidation and implore the Father that we walk in Truth and not in a lie.
Please once again check all I have said against The Word with prayer and supplication.
Bo’az.
