Can we ignore The Law and still inherit the Kingdom of Heaven (Part 1)

I am required to answer a question that I was asked last week, however before I reveal that question, a question which I believe is vitally important and critical to our future in Messiah and His Kingdom, I must caution that as I allow Scripture to interpret Scripture and lead me where It may whilst hopefully conforming to the parabolas set out and hi-lighted in the extracted statement below as penned by Mr. Michas, my answer, indeed this missive, may be much longer as I now envisage including the distinct possibly that I in turn shall also need to ask a few questions and make a statement or two of my own:

"As God designed prophetic pictures and patterns to reveal His Messiah, He also gave His Word for man to understand their meaning and spiritual significance. Deep study of Scripture, with the Spirit of Truth to bring understanding, reveals God's beautiful and precise plan. Knowing who (sic) our Creator is and what our Savior has done for us is a solid foundation of truth, not blind faith. Total trust in God comes from knowing who He is and what He has done for us. The greater our understanding, the greater our trust will be and the closer our personal relationship with Him will be"

I hope we are able to all accept the plain and simple fact that all those called by His Name have been guilty to varying degrees in some way or the other of polluting The Name their relationship with The Father and Redeemer of Israel. This pollution (SIN) has been achieved through the mixing of HIS Biblically described and mandated acts of worship leading to Truth and Life within His Covenant Family with mankind’s humanly inspired “spiritual wishes” and “theological dogma”, therefore this missive is not meant to be an instrument to enable anyone, myself especially, an opportunity to throw stones, but it is precisely because of these theological biases that there may exist the need to ask this searching question of themselves before going any further into this matter:

Am I prepared to accept The Truth of the Word even if that Truth does not conform to my established and time-honoured beliefs – am I able to sacrifice my “Religion” on the altar Truth?

This is an important and potentially life altering question which I have just posed and we, not one of us, can or in fact dare consider this question in a light or frivolous fashion as the answer we give, no matter what it may be, will be recorded in the Court Room of Heaven for eternity and it will stand as a Witness either for or against us! Mat. 7:21-23.

Hopefully now presenting the question that was posed to me last week, a question, which has inspired much, thought and study over the last 8 days or so you will see why I have approached it in this manner:

“Does Mat. 5:19 mean that we can disobey the Torah and still be in heaven, even though we will be the least?”

“So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvoth (commandments) and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven….” *** Mat. 5:19 – Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) is used in all references unless otherwise stated.

Reading Mat. 5:19 on its own would seem to support the obvious conclusion that it seems to be OK to sin (Break the Torah – Rom. 7:7; 1 John 3:4) and still scrape into The Kingdom of Heaven!

But can the correct answer to such a critical question truly be found by such a simple “cherry-picking” method of Biblical exegesis?

I for one think not, so to begin to formulate my answer to the above question I shall need to look at the entire message of The Scriptures as revealed to us.

Is there a possibility that the generally accepted understanding of Mat. 5:19 that we may be able to “scrape in” by the skin of our teeth then possibly be incorrect?

The short answer in my opinion is yes, I believe it may indeed be incorrect; but do not trust me, let us allow HIS Word, HIS Scriptures to shed light on this most important of matters – the Building His Kingdom here on Earth and eternal citizenship within His Kingdom to come.

Before going any further though I shall need to include a caveat:  

I know from the feedback that I get that these missives also go to, and are presumably then read by people who are still within the denominational system. It would also seem that some of these readers understandably still labour under the denominationally structured teachings, so as strange as it may seem for some of you reading this missive who may have already left the denominational systems with their teachings and liturgy, there are others who may require a bit more clarity regarding certain fundamental doctrines, and it is some of these doctrines which I believe need to be dealt with in a little more detail within the context of this missive thus, if not placing us all on the same page, at least assisting readers to understand where I come from and how I arrive at my conclusions.

Firstly, and quite simply, we really need to understand Who Yeshua, King of from The House of Judah is: Yeshua, is the very essence and description of the Written, Spoken, Living, Eternal, Visible, never to change Torah; The revealer of the Father and His Living Covenant to man, The Eternal and only Lawgiver, Judge and King, the only ONE Who can saves us from our SINS – Please consider this for a moment – IF YESHUA IS THE ONLY KING, JUDGE AND LAWGIVER WHO IS ABLE TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS (Breaking of His Law/Torah/Covenant) – THEN WHO GAVE THE LAW AT MOUNT SINAI TO MOSHE AND THE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL? (John 1:1-2, 14, 18; John 14:9; Ex. 19:5-6 as read with (arw) Ex. 20:1 & Ex. 20:19 & Dev. (Deut.) 5:22-29 & Is. 33:22 & James 4:11-12).

•   Yeshua is the Way, the Truth and the Life: John 14:6

•   The Torah is The Truth & The Word is the Truth: Ps. 119:142 & 160

•   Yeshua is The Word: John 1:1

•   The Word was made Flesh: John 1:14

•   The Torah is for eternity: Ps. 119:89

•   The Torah, The Word, Yeshua never changes: Ps. 89:34-34; Mal.3:6; Heb. 13:8

•   Yeshua IS THE WORD, THE TORAH!

Rev. 19:13 “…… and His Name is the Word of ELOHIM.”

Secondly we need to remember that at the time Yeshua made these statements we now see recorded in The Brit Chadasah (New Testament) there was NO “NEW TESTAMENT” YET RECORDED - the First Brit Chadasah (N/T) epistle, which incidentally is thought to be the Epistle of James, was written approximately 18-20 years after the death, resurrection and ascension of Yeshua, so lets ask ourselves:

How would the real early “Church (Body) of Yeshua Messiah” have walked, worshipped, lived and ate?

With and by what Standard did the “Early Church (Body) of Messiah Yeshua” measure and weigh their “Religious leaders” of the day.

What writings would the Early Church (Body) have used to study The Scriptures as instructed by Sha’ul (Paul) in Acts 17:11? – When history tells us that ONLY THE Tanakh (O/T) – The writings of Moshes (Moses) and the Prophets that Yeshua refers to and which are the subject of His discourse in “The Sermon of the Mount”, Matthew 5-7:28 and specifically in the Mat. 5:17-19 - were available?

Therefore if we accept the above that would imply that only the Tanakh (O/T Scriptures) could be accepted and used as the Authoritative Writings by Yeshua and all His Apostles to establish this eternal and visual foundation of righteous living as required by YHWH Elohim and prescribed in accordance to His Word for the entire time that Yeshua walked on this earth and for many years after His Death, Resurrection and Ascension!

Please understand then that the Brit Chadasah (N/T) did not bring a new religion, it was a continuation and confirmation of the “OLD” as revealed to us by YESHUA, the Author and Finisher of Life! Heb. 1:1-3; Heb. 12:1-3 therefore the Brit Chadasah (N/T) must line up with the Tanakh (O/T) – NOT THE OLD WITH THE NEW – The Word stipulates that the use of the LAW OF FIRST MENTION IS APPLIED BY YHWH AND IS THUS OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE IN READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE SCRIPTURES – Ecc. 1:9; Is. 46:10; Is. 48:3.

Thirdly we need to understand and grasp right at the very outset that there is an eternal and irreconcilable hostility between the sinful man and the Perfectly Holy YHWH Elohim (Rom. 8:1-8) SIMPLY BECAUSE WE (mankind) HAVE ALL SINNED, in other words, REBELLED AGAINST YHWH ELOHIM AND HIS PERFECT RULE, ORDER AND AUTHORITY and WHETHER IT BE BY IGNORANCE OR BY DELIBERATE ACTION MAKES NO DIFFERENCE, WE HAVE SINNED, BROKEN HIS LAW AND FALLEN SHORT OF HIS GLORY AND DESERVE DEATH SO to reconcile us to HIM YHWH Elohim needed His Son to die for us. Sin, the breaking of His Law, is so abhorrent to YHWH ELOHIM THAT HE COULD NOT EVEN LOOK TOWARDS HIS SON AS HE, HIS SON, CARRIED THE SIN OF THE WORLD!! Please consider this fact whilst pondering our question from Mat. 5:19 (See also Gen. 2:17; John 3:5-6; Rom. 8:1-8; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; Rom. 7:7; 1 John 3:4; 2 Cor. 5:17-21 arw Mat. 27:46 & Ps. 22:1 etc.)

Once again if we accept what has been presented thus far, then let us ask ourselves this:

What Scriptures should we then use to interpret Heb. 11:6 that say that “Without FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE YHWH ELOHIM”?

Note please that the Hebrew word translated for FAITH, FAITHFUL, FAITHFULNESS, FAITHFULLY, SET, STABLE, STABILITY come from the same root word, which is H530 – emunah = firmness, security, fidelity, stability  & truth (See Hab. 2:4): in other words faithfulness is fidelity (loyal and faithful) to the Truth. It portrays an action dictated by belief in a concept, P/person, thing and so forth.

And in the Greek we have 2 words translated as FAITH as used in The Brit Chadasah (N/T) –

·      G3640 – oligopistos = From G3641 (puny, short, small) & G4102 (to obey, trust, yield, convict, rely upon, believe, fidelity) = incredulous, that is lacking confidence – of little faith (see Mat. 6:30):

·      And The second word translated as FAITH from the Greek is the same word used in the compilation of the first definition of little faith noted above and underlined – G4102 = pistis – (to obey, trust, yield, convict, rely upon, believe, fidelity) - (See Heb. 11:6).

G4102 = pistis which is translated faith 239 times and on other occasions as belief, believe, fidelity, so in short to have BIBLICAL FAITH IS TO TRUST (intellectual acceptance) AND OBEY THAT WHICH WE TRUST IN, (Luke 6:43-45) in other words adopting a strict adherence and application of this intellectual acceptance, whether it be good or whether it be evil – See James 2:1, 8 (KJV – “If ye fulfill the Royal Law according to Scripture – again what Scripture would James – Ya’akov be referring to do you think?), James 2:10 & 14-20.

So we are able to establish that in both the Hebrew and the Greek Biblical FAITH, as described by the Apostle James, is a belief in something accompanied by the appropriate action associated to that belief, for the converse of this see James 1:12-15 NB: SIN BRINGS FORTH DEATH – SIN IS THE BREAKING OF THE TORAH 1 John 3:4.

To establish the context of our question let us have a brief look at Matthew 5-7 which is in and of itself a massively important piece of Scripture and one which I have heard used by religious leaders within the Denominations to justify the doing away with of the Physical Laws of The Torah BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THESE TEACHERS, NOW JESUS HAS TAKEN THE LAW TO A DEEPER LEVEL OF THE HEART AND THEREBY DOES NOT REQUIRE US TO OBEY THE LAW IN THE FLESH ANY LONGER!

Here is an example they sight to support that teaching:

“You have heard that our fathers were told ‘Do not commit adultery.’ (Ex. 20:14; Dev. (Deut.) 5:18) But I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery in his heart ” ***Mat. 5:27-28

Had Yeshua indeed done away with The Torah HE would have been no better than the Scribes and Pharisees HE so severely admonished and warned us to beware of, as seen in Mat. 5:20 and so many other portions of Scripture, and thus have been a sinner and hypocrite Himself all the while just PRETENDING TO BE THE MESSIAH, THUS MAKING OF HIMSELF THE ANTI-MESSIAH – for more reading on this matter see Stone your rebellious son.

To clarify this let us briefly look at what actions Yeshua accused and rebuked the religious leaders of His day of committing in regards to His Fathers Kingdom –

“Then some P’rushim (Pharisees) and Torah-teachers (Scribes) from Yerushalayim came to Yeshua and asked Him, “Why is it that your talmidim (Disciples) break the tradition of the elders? They don’t do n’tilat-yadayim before they eat!” (Ceremonial hand washing as prescribed by the Oral Torah in order to be ritually pure). He (Yeshua) answered, “Indeed, why do you break the command of Elohim (GOD) by your tradition? *** Mat. 15:1-3 Torah is not, and never will be the traditions of man – IT IS FROM YHWH ELOHIM HIMSELF

We can search the Torah and Prophets but you will never ever find a law from YHWH Elohim that requires the washing of hands before eating – this was a man-made “Oral Torah” law which was being placed at best on par with the Word of YHWH and at worst, ABOVE THE WORD OF YHWH! Where on the other hand when Yeshua taught in the “Sermon of the Mount” and made statements such as “But I tell you” HE WAS IN FACT APPLYING PERFECT TORAH INSTRUCTIONS AND NOT MAKING NEW LAWS OF THE HEART FOR THE “CHRISTIAN CHURCH” AS “TAUGHT” BY THE APOSTLE PAUL!:

Lev. 19:17: “Do not hate your brother in your heart, but rebuke your neighbour frankly, so that you will not carry sin because of him.” ***

Num. 15:39: “It is a tzitzit for you to look at and hereby remember all of YHWH’s mitzvoth (commandments) and obey them, so that you won’t go around wherever your own heart and eyes lead you to prostitute yourselves.” ***

Dev. (Deut.) 6:6: “These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart.” ***

Dev. (Deut.) 8:2: “You are to remember everything of the way in which YHWH led you these forty years in the desert, humbling and testing you in order to know what was on your heart – whether you would obey his mitzvoth (commandments) or not.” ***

Dev. (Deut.) 10:16: “Therefore, circumcise the foreskin of your heart; and don’t be stiff-necked any longer!” ***

Dev. 11:18: “Store these words in your heart…”  ***

Dev. 15:9: “Guard yourself against allowing your heart to entertain the mean-spirited thought..” ***

Job 31:27: “My heart was secretly seduced, so that I would wave them a kiss with my hand” ***

Ps. 10:11; “He says in his heart, “Elohim forgets…..” ***

Quoted in Psalm 40:7-8 we see King David speaking prophetically about the coming of Messiah Yeshua he writes, “Here I am! I am coming! In the scroll of the book it is written about Me. Doing Your will, My Elohim, is my joy, yea thy TORAH is in my heart!” ***

Ps. 51:8: “.., so make me know wisdom in my inmost heart.” ***

Prov. 4:23: “ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE, GUARD YOUR HEART; FOR IT IS THE SOURCE OF LIFE’S CONSEQUENCES.” ***

Mat. 15:18-19: “But what comes out of your mouth is actually coming from your heart, and that is what makes a person unclean; for out of the heart come forth wicked thoughts, murder, adultery and other kinds of sexual immorality, theft lies…” ***

James 1:15: “Then, having conceived, the desire gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.” *** Remember sin is the breaking of The Torah 1 John 3:4; Rom. 7:7.

Things have not changed at all and it is precisely these man made laws, the Talmud and the Mishnah for Judaism; Roman Canon for the Catholics and the reformists writings and creeds based largely on Roman Canon which, as Yeshua stated, had/have taken precedence over the Holy Scriptures and subsequently have made the Law of YHWH Elohim of no consequence and these self-same man-made traditions now dictate the conduct of Judaism WHO DO NOT BELIEVE “JESUS” IS THE PROPHESIED MESSIAH and those saying that they worship “Jesus” BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT HIS COVENANT LAWS, HIS TORAH, HIS WITNESSES AND SIGNS GOVERNING AND REVEALING HIS KINGDOM AUTHORITY IN THE HERE AND NOW! Mark 7:8 arw Mat. 15:1-20; Mat. 24:4; Mat. 24:24-25.

We really need to take time to contemplate and ponder what Yeshua Himself says in Mat. 5:17-18 devoid of our tainted views of religion:

Yeshua says that HE “has NOT come to destroy/abolish the Torah or the Prophets” but rather to preach, complete and make replete (fulfill) the entire Law and The Prophets. If we acknowledge this statement, then to assume that the word pleroo which is translated in Mat. 5:17 as “fulfill” in many translations, & which, according to denominational doctrines, means that by “fulfilling” the requirements of Prophecy regarding Himself, Yeshua has indeed done away with the Law and The Prophets: Such a assertion would then in fact make Yeshua’s statement in these two verse a contradiction in actual terms.

Here is the CJB translation of verse 17:

“Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish but to complete.” See this verse in the light of Dev. (Deut.) 4:2; Dev. (Deut.) 12:32; Heb. 1:1-3; Jude 1:3; Rev. 22:19 – See that if we should add or take away from this Book WE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE AND BARRED FROM ENTRY INTO THE HOLY CITY!

The word “Pleroo” deserves an entire study in and of itself and this is not the platform for such a study, but please see this link of only a few minutes for what I consider a good grounding on this particular word and its use in The Scriptures.

Please also consider this, if Yeshua expected His Disciples to comply with Scriptures such as Matt. 28:20 – “and teaching them to obey everything that I HAVE COMMANDED YOU” and considering that Yeshua Himself would have had to apply that same Faith as required by The Word and explained above & as read with (arw) Heb. 1:1-3; Jude 1:3 - then taking His statement in Mat. 28:20 and holding it up to the light of the often misquoted testimony of Kephas (Peter), who speaks of upholding The Law/Torah by having never ever eaten anything unclean (un-Biblical) even to this point 15 years after having walked personally with Yeshua during basically His entire earthly ministry, then I would dare say that it is a pretty sure thing that in order to give to HIS Apostles a visual and perfect “template” or “example” which to follow and to teach to His future converts amongst all the nations for the rest of time until HIS return, Yeshua indeed then never could have broken or set aside the Law, The Prophets and His Scriptural requirement of Faith.

NB: Please See Acts 10:11-20, 28-29 arw Acts 15:6-9 to see that what Yeshua was referring to when speaking to Kephas in Acts 10 had nothing at all to do with food but was a correction from The Ruach (Holy Spirit John 16:12-15) of Yeshua Himself because Peter (Kephas) was in this particular area ignorantly still applying a portion of the added “Oral Law”, a portion shown here and pertaining to a law prohibiting “Jews” from ever making any contact with non-Jews – these are the very “laws” which both Yeshua and Sha’ul (Paul) spent their ministries debunking, they never ever tried to debunk The Torah.

Now moving onto Mat. 5:18 it is patently obvious that the heavens and the earth have not passed away; secondly, as shown above the Message (Torah/Covenant) has never and can never change so therefore, in my opinion, I do not think it is a massive leap of faith to state that the Law and The Prophets are still relevant and that Yeshua would never ever have sanctioned then or now the annulment or the “doing away” away with of His Torah because had HE done so HE would have been annulling or doing away with Himself and The Father Who sent Him and thus would have been classified as a rebellious son in accordance with Dev. (Deut.) 21:18-21!  John 1:1-2 & 14 - See again Stone your rebellious son

The Bible shows the Heavens and the earth to be signs, witnesses to the eternity of The Law (Dev. 30:19), just as the sign of the rainbow spoken of in Gen 9:8-17 is an eternal sign or witness of another portion of promise/covenant from YHWH Elohim to mankind and just as The Shabbat is an eternal sign of His Covenant and His Creation Ex. 20:8-11 & Ex. 31:12-17.

“I call on heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have presented you with life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life so that you will live, you and your descendants. *** Dev. (Deut.) 30:19 – this mirrors Gen. 2:9 & 16-17

So, let us be very careful that we do not simply gloss over this statement of Yeshua’s in Mat 5:18 concerning the heaven and earth still being here, because if we are truly redeemed through His Blood then Mat. 5:19, the crux of this missive, will be initiated and instituted in, on and through our lives from now and echoing into eternity – THE CHOICE IS OURS, WE CAN CHOOSE WHETHER WE WANT TO BE GREAT IN HIS KINGDOM OR THE LEAST! Gen. 2:17; Lev. 26:1-13; Lev 26: 14-17; Dev. (Deut.) 28:1-2 – NB: In this verse The Voice of YHWH Elohim IS YESHUA; Dev. (Deut). 28:15 – Again please understand that the VOICE of YHWH our ELOHIM REFERS TO YESHUA HIMSELF; Dev. (Deut.) 30:19; Dev. (Deut.) 31:28; Gal. 3:13-14 arw Devarim (Deut.) 21:22-23; Jos. 24:15.

Again at the risk of stating the patently obvious and being painfully repetitive, it would seem that the only conclusion that anybody can reach is that the entirety of the Law (Torah) and It’s witnesses against us still stand and should be applied as It prescribes It’s own application!

Therefore if we can accept that the entire Torah/Law/Covenant, as prescribed by Itself is still applicable and authoritative and HAS NOT EVER BEEN DONE AWAY WITH OR ABRIDGED THEN LETS US SEE IF WE CAN MOVE FURTHER TOWARDS A CONCLUSIVE BIBLICAL ANSWER TO Mat. 5:19:

“So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvots (commandments) and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven.” ***

If one is to do a study of what is commonly referred to as Levitical Sacrificial system one will see that there are Sacrifices for all sorts of occasions, and obviously there are the sin offerings for restoration of fellowship with YHWH Elohim.

Blood Sacrifices were to be offered firstly for “inadvertent sins” or “sins of ignorance” on a personal, corporate, ecclesiastical or leadership level  (Lev. 4:2ff) and secondly for the more personal “deliberate sin” caused by general human weaknesses of say anger, frustration, stress, fear (Lev. 5:14ff) – BUT FOR DELIBERATE, REBELLIOUS & CONTINUAL SIN THERE WAS NO SACRIFICE - SEE Num. 15:30-31 –

“But an individual who does something wrong intentionally, whether a citizen or a foreigner, is blaspheming YHWH. That person shall be cut off from his people. Because he has contempt for the WORD (YESHUA) of YHWH and has disobeyed his command, that person will be cut off completely; his offence will remain with him.” ***

I believe it would be practical to now break this missive before going further and dealing with the Num. 15:30-31 in more detail because as I said in the beginning this question drawn from Mat. 5:19 is definitely taking much longer to answer than as expected, so I believe I should divide this into 2 missives, I hope, but we shall see and with that I will conclude the 1st portion of this missive here, and Abba willing I shall continue with the next portion after Sabbath as Abba leads.

Please study prayerfully what I have submitted to now not just taking my word for anything, but instead testing everything against His Word.

The Greatest Conspiracy ever?

We have a saying in Afrikaans, "Die mag van die gewoonte", which, when literally translated into English, renders the rather clumsy expression "The power of the habit", yet strangely enough in this simpler form the essence of this statement is strikingly eloquent and unambiguous portraying I believe the crux of the message that Sha'ul was led to pen in Rom. 12:2 whilst in the same breath offering in Rom.12:3 the advice we all so sorely need to break this "bondage" which we ourselves cannot break simply because as Rom. 3:23 so succinctly tells us - we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of YHWH Elohim thus we ourselves cannot adopt or understand His mind and Ways. Is. 55:8-11.

As our world stumbles forward, teetering on the edge of an abyss of self annihilation whether through financial, geopolitical, idealogical, moral, or what ever other means or combinations I see "Die mag van die gewoonte" being blindly applied to our prevailing situations over and over again - because after all there is nothing new under the sun as we are told in Ecc. 1:9.

In our frenzied condition of these latter days is would seem that this repetitive and destructive cycle of fallen man seems to be blindly, even mindlessly followed with reinventions of the same mistakes charted by us "lemmings" as we exponentially accelerate our headlong rush towards our proverbial cliff and appointment with destiny.

The lemmings cannot be helped as this is their instinctive plight and destiny, mankind on the other hand, even though his end is Prophesied, still has a choice on W/whose side he will find himself when our destinies play out because we have a mind and can choose, should we be stirred into engaging our minds,  which S/side we would rather be on.

The whole process of these prophecies will be allowed to be run their course by a loving, gracious and Torah committed Father so that man can/when he runs out of his ideas and his convoluted and corrupted plans will begin, should he so choose, to look outside of himself towards the Creator and His Father for help and thereby prove His love and commitment to Yeshua and the building of the Kingdom of YHWH here on earth, THAT DOES NOT MEAN HOWEVER THAT THE FULL RULE OF YESHUA WILL BE ESTABLISHED HERE ON EARTH UNTIL THE RETURN OF YESHUA OUR MESSIAH. Ex. 3:7-9; Deut. 8:1-3; Jer. 29:11-14.

We know, or at least should know, that our Father does not take delight in the death of even one sinner (Eze. 18:32; Eze. 33:11) and so it is often during the chain of events described  above and brought about by the occurring of these prophetic events, and of course at a more individual and personal level, that the epiphany or spiritual realisation which leads us to our knees and the process of confession, which we generally refer to as being "Born Again" occurs - The Good News, The Gospel has now become Rhema* in our conscious lives - Hallelujah we are born again into Christ Jesus and His Church and are saved from our sins into eternal life. 

BUT ARE WE TRULY BORN AGAIN AS REQUIRED BY HIS KINGDOM CONDITIONS AS OUTLINED IN HIS WORD?

I am sure that most of us can identify with some sort of "spiritual" experience or realisation which accompanied our individual "rebirths", but was it of YHWH Elohim?

I am also sure that many of us have also witnesses with jubilation occasions where this "Rebirth" certainly seemed to have occurred in another's life, but only to later see that the "Reborn" person is once again seemingly just to be walking under "Die mag van die gewoonte" again.

We see this very scenario, including an incredibly stern admonition being played out in the life of Sha'ul himself and recorded in Galatians 1:6-9 -

"I am astounded that you are so quick to remove yourselves from me, the one who called you by Messiah's grace, and turn to some other supposedly "Good News" (G2098 - euaggheleeon = good message, gospel) which is not good news at all! What is really happening is that certain people are pestering you and trying to pervert the genuine "Good News" of the Messiah. But even if we - or, for that matter, an angel from heaven! - were to announce to you some so-called "Good News" contrary to the Good News we did announce to you, let him be under a curse forever! We said it before, and I say it again: if anyone announces "Good News" contrary to what you received, let him be under a curse forever!"

Or let us look at 2 Corinthians 11:2-4 where once again Sha'ul writing, addresses The Bride directly concerning her conditions for marriage to Messiah Yeshua -

"For I am jealous for you with Elohim's kind of jealousy; since I promised to present you as a pure virgin in marriage to your one Husband, The Messiah; and I fear that somehow your minds may be seduced away from the simple and pure devotion to Messiah, just as Chavah was deceived by the serpent and his craftiness (Gen 3:1-6). For if someone comes and tells about some other Yeshua than the One we told you about, or if you receive a spirit different from the One you received, or accept some some so-called "good news" different from the "Good News you already accepted, you bear with him well enough!"

So in summary we read in the extract from Galatians 1 that any person who comes with another "Gospel" apart from the one presented by Sha'ul should be cursed! 

In 2 Cor. 11 we see very clearly that Sha'ul, whilst speaking to the potential Pure Virgin Bride of Messiah, warns her to be on the lookout for the deceit and craftiness practiced by the enemy, (Satan) just as revealed with Chavah in the Garden when tempting her, Chavah, to use her human faculties to rely on when making decisions, however this time he will use his implied agents, agents who if accepted, will present another Gospel, another Messiah and another spirit!

It would seem then that we may have a more diverse warning presented by Sha'ul in his 2 Cor. 11 extract and that being given in Galatians turning our attention to -

• The Messiah.
• The Gospel Message (Good News)
• A S/spirit.

So I would say that the responsibility rests with us to search The Scriptures so as to discover WHO THE BIBLICAL MESSIAH IS; WHAT THE TRUE GOSPEL MESSAGE REALLY ENTAILS and WHAT OTHER SPIRIT, if indeed at all, we may be under so as correctly divide the Word of Truth and thus presenting ourselves to YHWH as unashamed and competent workers in His Kingdom - 2 Tim. 2:15. 

As we set out on our "quest" let us not forget the concern of Sha'ul that the Bride may very possibly be tricked into over-looking the simplicity of her devotion to Messiah and His Gospel because of the power of human reasoning.

Let us begin with a seemingly stupid and pointless clarification of Who Yeshua our Messiah is because the "Jesus" we are presented with by the Denominations would seem to be markedly different: Messiah Yeshua is:-

• The Son of YHWH The Father (Mat. 3:17)
• The Word of The Father (John 1:1-2)
• The Creator (John 1:3)
• Named Yeshua - meaning THE SALVATION OF YHWH, not Jesus.
• Sinless even though tempted like every person is tempted, yet through it all He remained, and will forever be, Sinless (i.e. Never broke Torah 1 John 3:4; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15)
• The same yesterday, today and forever - HE NEVER EVER CHANGES (Heb. 13:8)
• The keeper of a) Sabbath, b) Lev. 23 Festivals, c) Lev. 11 dietary Laws - AND NEVER WORSHIPPED ON A SUNDAY.( a) Filled with The Ruach HaKodesh Yeshua went to the Synagogue on Sabbath, as was His usual practice and partook of the Synagogue liturgy and service - Luke 4:16-23; b) Sukkot as evidence by John 7:10, 14; Pesach John 13; c) kept dietary laws as observed by His instruction to His Disciples in Mat. 28:20 and evidenced in Acts 10:13-14*** where Peter tells Yeshua many years later with regards to the conversion of the first "Gentile" THAT HE, PETER, HAS NEVER EATEN ANYTHING UNCLEAN/UNBIBLICAL)
• An eternal Covenant/Torah keeper and so NEVER EVER CAME TO BREAK THE TORAH (COVENANT) OR THE WORD OF THE PROPHETS but to fully present them**** (Mat. 5:17-20).

The "Jesus" presented by the Denominations, contrary to what I listed above for Yeshua will have us believe that:

• His Name somehow has changed to Jesus (Alliteration then? Possibly - but not now in this modern era).
• He broke His own Eternal Covenant with His Bride Israel in direct contravention of many, many Scriptures including His statement in Matt. 5:17-21, so that His replacement Bride (The Church) may now live in perpetual and eternal sin (1 John 3:4ff) 
• He is not just OK with us breaking His Sabbath, His eternal Covenant Sign, and replacing it with an unscriptural Sunday (Ex. 20:8-12; Ex. 31:13-17); or in fact even replacing or mixing His Eternal Leviticus 23 Festivals with pagen fertility festivals or even His Leviticus 11 dietary Laws with the newly introduced right to now eat and consume, as desired, any unclean animal one would want to consume - plus more, HE would seem to encourage it.
• In fact Jesus Himself broke the Torah when He healed the Lepers (Mark 1:40-45), spoke and forgave the adulterous woman (John 8:1-11), allowed His Disciples to pluck grain on a Sabbath thereby breaking the Sabbath (Matt. 12:1-8) and THEN JESUS EVEN LED HIS DISCIPLE PETER INTO SIN BY FORCING HIM TO EAT UNCLEAN FOOD (Acts 10) and IS OK WITH THE FACT THAT TO KEEP HIS ETERNAL COVENANT IS AN ACTUAL CURSE ACCORDING TO THE CHURCHES INTERPRETATION OF THE PAULINE DOCTRINES.
• The "Jesus" of the Churches created a group of people, the Jews, forced/coerced  them into keeping an impossible set of Laws (Torah), punished them with death for breaking these Laws - SENT JESUS SO SAVE US GENTILES, AND NOW WE DON'T NEED TO KEEP HIS "JEWISH" LAWS ANYMORE BECAUSE WE ARE UNDER GRACE! Wow no wonder the Jews hate the Jesus of the Church!  

There is much more, but I think we can safely say that it seems that we have two very different Messiah's represented here - AND WISDOM WOULD DICTATE THAT ONLY ONE CAN BE THE TRUE MESSIAH - SO WHO THEN DOES THE OTHER ONE REPRESENT?*****

Next lets see what the Bible says about "The Gospel" - "The Good News".

• Let's begin with John the Baptist - "Turn from your sins to Elohim, for The Kingdom of Heaven is near" - Mat. 3:2 - NB - Sins = Breaking Covenant, Torah 1 John 3:4.
• Yeshua's first Pubic Proclamation after His authority is Challenged by HaSatan in the wilderness and as recorded in Mat. 4:17 is ".."TURN FROM YOUR SINS TO ELOHIM, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR!"
• Yeshua's instruction to His Disciples on their first "Missionary Trip" and as recorded in Mat. 10:7 is "…Proclaim "THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR!"
• In Mat. 11:5-6 Yeshua describes the acts of healing He has preformed and ends with "the Good News (Gospel) is being told to the poor - and how blessed is anyone not offended by Me! 
• We are told by Yeshua in Mat. 6:19-34 to not be concerned for the essentials of life - BECAUSE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER ALREADY KNOWS WHAT WE NEED -WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS ACTIVELY SEEK THE FATHER'S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS!
• Here is the clincher in my opinion - HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS, THE GOSPEL YESHUA CAME TO PROCLAIM TO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL - Yeshua instructs us in Mat. 6:9-13 on how we should pray - Please Note verse 10: "MAY YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!" 

We are given the fullest description of all as to what the Kingdom of Heaven (The Gospel) is in Genesis 1:26-2:3; Gen. 3:8-10.  - "MAN, IN A COVENANT RELATIONSHIP WITH YHWH ELOHIM & THROUGH HIS WORD, THE VOICE, YESHUA HIMSELF, AND AS INSTRUCTED, PROVIDED FOR, EMPOWERED, ENLIGHTENED AND AUTHORISED BY YHWH ELOHIM IS TO RULE THE EARTH! 

In short the Gospel Message primarily is the reintroduction of this Partnership Rule of the earth from fallen man to co-heirs with The "Jews" and Messiah. Remember Messiah Yeshua IS A JEW! We see this Gospel Message very well described in Eph. 2 esp. read verses 17-22, please allow yourselves the time to read this passage of Scripture. 

We all know man fell into sin by disobedience of His Instructions - His Covenant, and YHWH Elohim then started the process of restoring mankind back to Himself by raising up a peculiar people for Himself and naming them Israel (Not the Church - Gen. 3:21-24; Rev. 21:1-4; Rev. 21:9-14) - and YHWH explained this restoration could only take place by introducing Yeshua, The Word, The Creator, The Very Embodiment of His Covenant in Person  and that Yeshua WOULD HAVE TO DIE TO REDEEM HIS ELECT BACK INTO THIS RELATIONSHIP - THIS MATRIMONIAL RULE OF THE EARTH - Gen. 3:15.

The introduction of Yeshua, The Perfect Lamb of YHWH, in YHWH's perfect time had Covenanted to died for His fallen Creation before the foundation of the world was even laid (1Pet. 1:17-21; Rev. 13:8).

We see this process described throughout Scripture, Gen.12:1-3; Gen. 14:17-20; Deut. 30 esp. verse 6; Jer. 31:31-40 (here we see that the Re-Newed Covenant - The Gospel - The Eternal Covenant is made with ONLY JUDAH AND ISRAEL - NOT THE CHURCH); Eze.36:22-28 shows us that the Covenant WILL BE THE LAW AND WILL BE WRITTEN ON THE HEARTS OF REDEEMED ISRAEL -NOT THE CHURCH - AND THAT REDEEMED ISRAEL WILL DWELL IN THE LAND AS PER THE COVENANT MADE WITH ABRAHAM. There are many more Scriptures to confirm this redemption through Yeshua and the initial return to His Covenant and later His Land, Physical Israel as described to Abraham.See also Eze. 37:15-28 as well, and here we actually see that YHWH Elohim will dwell in our midst for evermore as prophesied in Rev. 21:3!

This is just a sampling of Scriptures - the Word is full of confirmations of The Gospel, The Good News, The Return of His Kingdom Rule to Earth as He, Yeshua, rules from out of Jerusalem (Is. 2:1-4; Micah 4:1-5; Massive end times prophecy - Zech. 14 esp. verses 8-9) The City where HE has placed His Name for eternity - (Deut. 12:4-6; 2 Kings 21:4).

Messiah describes Himself as the Gate, or The Door into this Kingdom of YHWH as HE has offered up through Himself the perfect Sacrifice for fallen man to be redeemed through so as to be reconciled with YHWH our Father, Abba and that anybody coming in by any other door except through Him is a liar, a destroyed, a murder etc. John 10:1-18.

Yeshua Messiah describes Himself as the Way, the Truth and the Life and nobody can come to the Father except THROUGH HIM! John 14:6 -BUT HE NEVER DESCRIBES HIMSELF AS THE KINGDOM OF YHWH ELOHIM in actual fact Yeshua describes the Kingdom like the growth of a tiny Mustard seed and again like the expansion of active yeast working through fresh dough (Luke 13:18-20).

Reading Mat. 19:16-30 one cannot fail to see the importance of this text in context of what we are discussing in this blog, but suffice to say for todays purposes let us just say that if Yeshua needed to tell the rich young man to "GET BORN AGAIN" AND THEN YOU ARE ON WAY TO THE ETERNAL LIFE OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, HE had the perfect opportunity to do so here, instead what Yeshua said was - KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS, which the young rich man said he did and had always done, Yeshua does not contradict him or chastise him for having kept the Law, The Covenant, instead Yeshua then addresses the state of the rich young man's heart by moving to the second great commandment - SELL EVERYTHING AND GIVE IT TO THE POOR AND FOLLOW ME - well that was the end of the story the rich young man loved his possessions (what are these possessions for us) more than Yeshua or his brother. Deut. 6:5; Lev. 19:18; Mat. 22:37-37.

Today we are taught in the Church Denominations that we are all going to be raptured into heaven at some stage of the other where we will stay with Jesus eternally. A radically different Gospel Message I would dare say! 

Finally, in keeping with what Sha'ul penned in 2 Cor. 11:4 and quoted above allow me to please speak on the "other spirit" that he addresses.

Obviously I am not a proponent of The Trinity as I do not believe it is Scriptural supported, but that is for another day - BUT please do not stop reading now, if you have got this far - please carry on, I hope to be finished shortly:

• We are told that YHWH Elohim is Spirit (Ruach) - John 4:24.
• The Ruach hovered over the chaotic world in the beginning - Gen. 1:2
• The Ruach "conceived" Yeshua in Miriam (Mary) - Mat. 1:18-20.
• The Father says of Yeshua "THIS IS MY SON" - Mat. 3:17; 2 Pet. 1:16-18.
• Yeshua came out of the wilderness filled with the Power of The Ruach - Luke 4:14; 4:18.
• If we are to worship YHWH Elohim we are to do it in Ruach (Spirit) and Truth - John 4:23-24
• Yeshua tells us that He only did what He saw and heard from His Father WHO IS THE SPIRIT, AND WHO IS LIVING IN HIM - John 14:9-10
• Yeshua says that if we do not trust that He and the Father are ONE, then at least Trust the works that He has done BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WORKS OF THE FATHER - AND WE HAVE SHOWN THAT HE ONLY OBEYED AND DID TORAH - John 14:11 
• Yeshua tells us that WHATEVER WE ASK IN HIS NAME (i.e HIS AUTHORITY WHICH HIS NAME REPRESENTS) HE WILL DO WHAT WE ASK SO THAT THE FATHER CAN BE GLORIFIED - John 14:13-14
• We are told by Yeshua in John 16:12-15 that He still had much to explain to His Disciples, but it would be too difficult for them to accept it at that time, BUT when the Ruach of Truth arrives He would lead them into all Truth AND THAT THE RUACH WOULD/WILL NOT SPEAK OF HIS OWN ACCORD BUT WILL ONLY SAY WHAT HE HEARS. He also says that The Ruach will bring Prophecy (Testimony of Yeshua is the Spirit of Prophecy - Rev. 19:10); additionally He says The Ruach will bring Glory to Yeshua's Name (Authority) because He (The Ruach) will only declare/reveal what Is of Yeshua as all that is The Fathers is Yeshua's. 

We now turn to a defining statement that Yeshua makes in John 14:15-16 and as recorded in The CJB:

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments (quid pro quo - a favour or advantage granted in return for something); AND I WILL ask The Father (Abba) AND HE WILL give you another Comforting Counsellor LIKE ME, THE RUACH OF TRUTH, TO BE WITH YOU FOREVER………..I (Yeshua) WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ORPHANS - I AM COMING TO YOU!"

Do you see that?

Now to take this a step further, and I know that I have written so often on this but it needs repeating, Yeshua describes LOVE FOR HIM (or our brothers)  BY KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS - THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO SHOW LOVE FOR YESHUA ACCORDING TO THE WORD, AND THEN IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS THE FATHER WILL LOVE US, THE KEEPER OF HIS COMMANDMENTS - BUT IF WE DO NOT LOVE HIM WE WILL NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS (John 14:23-24 and more)

So we see that The Ruach (The Spirit) of YHWH will lead a person into all Truth AND THAT TRUTH WILL ALL BE BASED ON THE TORAH, THE COVENANT, THE LAW, and that to get the Gift of The Ruach AND THE PRESENCE OF YESHUA WITH US ONE MUST KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF YESHUA according to John 14:15-16!

So then I would conclude that the "other spirit" that Sha'ul speaks of in 2 Cor. 11:4 would of necessity be the opposite of The Ruach HaKodesh and thus be a spirit with out The Torah, a spirit not of Yeshua or His Father the "spirit of lawlessness"!

Here is what The CJB says in 2 Thes. 2:7-12 about this "person/spirit of lawlessness" and those who choose to walk down this lawless path:-

"For already this separating from Torah is at work secretly, but it will be secretly only until He who is restraining is out of the way. Then the one who embodies separation from Torah will be revealed, the one whom Adonai Yeshua will slay with the breath of His mouth (Is. 11:4) and destroy by the glory of His coming. When this man who avoids Torah comes, the adversary will give him the power to work all kinds of false miracles, signs and wonders (Deut. 13; Mat. 7:21-23; Mat. 24:4 & 24:24-25). He will enable him to deceive in all kinds of wicked ways, those who are headed for destruction BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT RECEIVE (Accept by Faith) THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH THAT COULD HAVE SAVED THEM. This is why Elohim is causing them to go astray, so that they will believe the lie. The result will be that all who have not believed the Truth, but have taken their pleasure in wickedness, will be condemned." 

So in summary I conclude that Scripturally Messiah Yeshua is:

• Our Messiah, King and Sacrificial Lamb of YHWH Elohim is The Door/Gate to the Eternal Kingdom of YHWH.
• Was, is and will always be the same which means He is a Torah observant, Mt. Sinai keeping King, Only Law Giver, Betrothed, Judge (James 4:12) and Creator Elohim.

That His Body are:

• Those permitted into His Eternal Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth, BECAUSE THEY ARE REDEEMED FROM THEIR SIN AND THE PENALTY OF DEATH ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SIN (Torah breaking; Col. 2:13-15).
• Those who are Torah Observant so as to show their Love for Him and thus also then qualify to get the "Deposit of the Ruach HaKodesh", The Spirit of Truth which again is to enable them to enter into His Fathers Eternal Kingdom here on earth and to do the work required here and now until Yeshua's return with His Fullness of Rule.

And therefore the "Jesus" as proclaimed by The Church is some other "Yeshua" according to Sha'ul. That does not mean however that there are not those within the Church systems that are not "reborn" through Yeshua and are now being drawn out though, just as was the case with all of us now being drawn back to the Torah/Covenant of YHWH Yeshua, and as happened to Abba Avraham when he was called out of the heathens to the Promised Land and service for YHWH Elohim.

That the Gospel, Good News, "Evangelie" (Afrikaans) Scripturally is: 

• The Gospel, Good News to be preached is repentance from the Breaking of The Torah, The Covenant in and through Yeshua, The Door/Gate back into the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth.
• Then to return back to the Rule/Law/Covenant of YHWH.
• Then later the return of Yeshua in The Flesh accompanied by His Elect and thereby heralding the full return of His Him and His Body, the redeemed of Israel, back to physical, geographical Israel under the Kingship of Messiah Yeshua to rule.
• Which will then allow His Law and Judgement, as administered by Him in Covenant relationship with His Bride in accordance with The Will of The Father to flow out from Mount Zion, Jerusalem and to cover the Earth as the waters cover the sea.

And that the Gospel proclaimed by the Church is one of salvation through "Jesus" so that we can eternally sit in heaven having departed this world - and therefore the Gospel proclaimed by the Church is another Gospel as spoken of by Sha'ul.

• The Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) is The Spirit of The Father and The Son.
• The Ruach HaKodesh can only speak what He is shown from Yeshua and The Father.
• The Ruach HaKodesh cannot speak against The Covenant/Law/ Torah of Yeshua because Yeshua is The Word and is YHWH Elohim (John 1:1-2) and has come in the flesh and dwelt amongst us. (John 1:14)
• The Ruach HaKodesh of YHWH Elohim is the Spirit of Prophecy, and the Spirit of Prophecy is Yeshua, and nobody can ever receive the Ruach HaKodesh from the Father unless they walk in The Covenant/Law/Torah AS YESHUA DID AND THEN YESHUA NEEDS TO ASK THE FATHER TO GIVE OF HIS RUACH TO THOSE MESSIAH YESHUA PROPOSES.

So the "Spirit" which the Church teaches denies The Torah, it leads people into the Word (Which is HOLY SPIRIT inspired and thus is the Father AND YESHUA THEMSELVES  SPEAKING) but blinds them to the Truth. SO AGAIN I CONCLUDE THAT ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES THE SPIRIT LEADING THE CHURCH CANNOT BE THE RUACH HAKODESH AND MUST THEREFORE BE ANOTHER SPIRIT!

THEREFORE I BELIEVE THAT THE GOOD NEWS ESPOUSED BY THE DENOMINATIONAL CHURCHES AND THEIR ADHERENTS, ACCORDING TO SHA'UL, IF THEY DO NOT REPENT OF THEIR WORKS, WILL BE ACCURSED BECAUSE THEY ARE PRESENTING ANOTHER MESSIAH, ANOTHER GOSPEL AND ANOTHER SPIRIT!

Therefore I cannot see a Biblical basis to accept any of the teachings, prophecies, religious prayer gatherings and whatever else that come out of Denominational Christian adherents as based on the above and Deut. 12:29-13:18.

I hope I have been able to Scripturally establish within this blog exactly what what Sha'ul spoke of in Galatians 1:6-8 and 2 Cor. 11:2-4.

And if I have been able to present my case then may I ask - Can we truthfully say that we have truly thought this critical matter through and evaluated what is happening in the Church world and system right now through the lens of The Word and arrived at a Scripturally based conclusion as to where we are with Messiah Yeshua, or are we just content to entrust our eternal salvation to a roll of the dice and "Die mag van die gewoonte"? 

The choice is ours, therefore the eternal results are also our responsibility, and should you be considering this matter a little more deeply you may want to just ask Abba prayerfully the following:

HOW CAN SOMEONE NOT WALKING IN COVENANT HAVE THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY AND TRUTH IN HIM/HER IF THE TESTIMONY OF YESHUA IS THAT SPIRIT OF PROPHECY?

WHY DOES THE WICKED ONE MAKE WAR AGAINST THOSE WHO HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF YESHUA (Spirit of Prophecy) AND OBEY THE LAWS OF ELOHIM? Rev. 12:17.

WHY ARE THOSE WHO KEEP THE TORAH AND HAVE FAITH (OBEDIENCE TO) YESHUA CONSIDERED THE ONES HAVING THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS? Rev. 14:12.

We need to remember that YHWH is Pure and that in Him is NO DARKNESS, so the slightest amount of "mixing" makes His Word impure, unclean - and if we are impure or unclean we may no come before Him to the Father, and I contend that to "mix" with the message of the Church is to "mix" His Word and thus makes it (His Word) and us UNCLEAN AND IMPURE - we are blindly walking into, and being a part of, the greatest conspiracy of all time - we need to choose, we need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling - and we need to do it fast, let us not be crippled by "Die mag van die gewoonte."! Is. 55:6-7.

Once again I beseech all who have read this to hold me accountable by checking out all I have written against The Word in prayer as led by The Ruach of Truth. We are all still students learning from The Ruach of our Rabbi Yeshua until His return.
